Starting from 20 September 2021, guests can discover Paris, followed by Rome and London, in the company of a knowledgeable, passionate guide who will transport them back in time and allow them to soak up the rich atmosphere of these historic cities.

With lively dialogue, as a one-on-one or as part of small, private groups, guests will be able to stop and enjoy the scenery as well as absorb thrilling anecdotes about the artists’ lives and careers, which will remain with them long after their stay.

They will discover…

- Why Picasso’s masterpiece ‘Les Demoiselles d’Avignon’ remained rolled up and neglected in his studio for years
- How an all-consuming love affair irreversibly affected Rodin’s sculptural practice and ultimately ended in tragedy
- How Monet turned the slur ‘impressionist’ from a critic’s insult into an artistic revolution
- Why Martin Scorsese thought Caravaggio would have made a great filmmaker

Each itinerary will be adapted to the individual guest or group, so that the trails can cater for both intrepid explorers who wish to cover the sites and novices who may have visited the city before but never delved deeper.

Helen Smith, chief customer experience officer, said:It is an idea that started with our wish to celebrate the anniversary of Picasso’s wedding feast, which he held at Le Meurice in 1918. The programme then grew with the discovery that Monet painted a view overlooking the Tuileries Garden from such an angle that he could have set up his easel on Le Meurice’s rooftop, and that guests can walk straight out of the hotel doors on rue de Rivoli to see Rodin’s sculptures. We want our guests to be able to discover the richness of the history and culture available on the doorstep at our most iconic locations – be it in Paris, Rome or London – and such a bespoke programme truly allows them to see each city through the eyes of these legendary artists.

The programme continues at Le Meurice with:
Rodin: Love and Torment in November 2021
Monet: Revolutionary Brushstrokes in March 2022

At Hotel Eden in Rome with: Caravaggio: Rebel and Rome in March 2022

*Rates from €1330 for two sharing a Superior Room or Suite, including American breakfast, including Cédric Grolet pastries and a two-hour expert guided tour.

The programme is subject to date change with rates correct at time of going to press.
