It is with great enthusiasm that we announce that CURA Restaurant has been awarded one Michelin star,” says Guilherme Costa, General Manager of Four Seasons Hotel Ritz Lisbon.

Opening a restaurant in the middle of the pandemic in the city's most iconic hotel was a huge challenge and expectations were very high. Pedro Pena Bastos, the chef chosen to lead the new project at the Hotel lived up to it, and together with his team they bring the first star to CURA, while the restaurant celebrates its first year of existence."

This important recognition was only possible through an extreme dedication to the project, which, in addition to the CURA dining and kitchen teams, involved all the other departments at the Hotel, as well as our suppliers. So, I can only thank everyone, who in one way or another contributed to the project. We will continue to be non-conformist by nature, raising standards and collaborating in this phase of evolution of Portuguese gastronomy within our country, as well as all its potential in the world”.

"I'm very happy for myself, for my team, for the Hotel, and of course, for CURA which was only born one year ago," says Chef Pena Bastos.

Asked about the attribution of this distinction, the chef adds:The team will continue to work to deliver more, and we will not sit back. The history behind our iconic Hotel and the surroundings of our restaurant are taken into account throughout the entire experience and quality we offer.”

About the future of CURA, Pena Bastos says: We will always try to offer the best dishes, the tastiest cuisine, made by the hands of great professionals, favouring seasonality and the best national products, produced in the fairest way, looking to a future of the richest Portuguese gastronomy and with new horizons emerging.”

CURA offers three tasting menus: the vegetarian Raízes; the lighter menu Meia Cura; and the full tasting menu Origens, a journey into the flavours of contemporary Portuguese cuisine in the hands of Pena Bastos.

CURA thus joins other Michelin-starred restaurants at Four Seasons hotels and resorts all over the world, alongside heavyweights such as: Chef Christian Le Squer at Le Cinq*** in Paris, Chef Anne-Sophie Pic at Le 1920 – La Dame de Pic in Megève and London, Chef Chan Yan Tak's Lung King Heen in Hong Kong, and many others.
  • CURA is open every day from 7:00 to 11:00 pm
