Embedded in and reflecting neighborhoods beloved by locals, these properties play the role of the in-the-know friend-of-a-friend, the local guide who shows a visitor the ins and outs of their own city.

They are places that offer guests the optimal space to tune-out the noise and tune-in to the surrounding locales. The ultra-chic interiors of Paris’s Le Cinq Codet mirror the charming vibes of the surrounding upscale 7th arrondissement.

Housed within the former France Telecom building from the 1930s, expertly renovated by Jean-Philippe Nuel, the property makes a statement in the neighborhood with its façade’s soft curves and double-height windows.

Staying here, guests experience a Paris the world knows and one reserved especially for them: private terraces on the top floor invite them to commune with the dome of Les Invalides and the Eiffel Tower, which are only steps away.

Blending into its surroundings is Parīlio on the Greek island of Paros, where timeless Greek architecture and Cycladic simplicity are expressed in an earthy color palette, local marble, terracotta floors, and natural wood. Onsite, Mr. E Restaurant offers a contemporary take on the cuisine of one of Greece’s lesser-known islands, immediately immersing guests within the local flavors and pace of life.

As sister properties on Mykonos, Myconcian Avaton and Myconian Kyma offer beachfront and more rural experiences reflecting the island’s varying terrain.

The Avaton, in Elia, overlooks the island’s longest beach, with large windows and open interior spaces that blend seamlessly with the unending sea views. The Kyma, 10 kilometers away and perched atop a hill just outside Mykonos Town, offers a luxurious retreat to embrace the island’s splendor.

Though secluded, it’s only a short stroll from the heart of the island, where small streets are filled with picturesque, whitewashed houses, art galleries, cafes, stylish bars, boutiques, and restaurants.

From either property guests are close to ferries that will shuttle them to explore the famous ruins of Delos, one of the most important mythological and archaeological sites of the Mediterranean.

Set in two distinct pulsing hearts of New York City are The Ludlow Hotel and Crosby Street Hotel. With its brick façade and factory casement windows, The Ludlow Hotel blends seamlessly into the Lower East Side, where the industrial front gives way to marble mosaic floors, an eclectic mix of vintage furniture, and striking original artworks—a direct reflection of the creative spirits that permeate downtown Manhattan.

Heading a few blocks west, Kit Kemp’s signature aesthetic at Crosby Street Hotel by Firmdale Hotels mirrors the individuality of its SoHo location. Floor-to-ceiling windows and statement pieces from Kemp’s personal art collection—including a painting by Anselm Kiefer—nod to the neighborhood’s storied lofts and artistic legacies.

Further west, in Tucson, Arizona, The Tuxon Hotel is a desert modernist gem and springboard to local adventure and indulgence. Elements of brass, stone, and saddled leather honor Arizona’s cattle ranching and mining heritages, while Tucson’s artisanal scene is showcased in an abundance of macramé plant hangers and local succulents.

The property itself is located at the base of Sentinel Peak and a stone’s throw away from the excitement of downtown—the perfect jumping-off point for hikes in the surrounding desert and mountains as well as to experience the United States’ first UNESCO City of Gastronomy.

In Calistoga, California, guests can experience the benefits of the local and lauded mineral springs at Dr. Wilkinson’s Backyard Resort & Mineral Springs.

The waters, which are used in the property’s multiple geothermal pools, have been proven to strengthen skin, detoxify, and relax stressed nervous systems. Locals and visitors alike have regularly visited the property, known for its volcanic ash–infused and mineral-rich mud baths, ever since it opened in 1952.
