Once more readers from around the globe have been rating their personal travel experiences and have been voting the world’s best hotels, resorts, cities, islands, airlines, airports and cruise lines – a prestigious award known as a symbol of highest recognition of excellence in the travel industry.

“We are proud, and beyond gratified that our resort has been recognized as Venice’s best place to stay”, says Jak Nahmias, Hotel Manager of the luxurious hotel in the Venetian lagoon.

“We are just 10 minutes away from famous San Marco Square by complimentary ride in our hotel’s unique traditional wooden boats. Once arrived on our private island, guests find an exclusive retreat of peace, tranquility and privacy where our team constantly creates unique guest experiences. A stay with us will be a memorable one.”

As one approaches the 20-acre island, the eye is caught by the impressive 12th-century church, a heritage from the monastic settlements that the island housed in the past.

Set among a centuries-old park, the elegant hotel offers 123 rooms, 45 suites and 29 signature suites – the largest array of luxurious accommodations in Venice - providing stunning views of Venice and the lagoon, the lush gardens and the historical inner courtyards.

The hotel sits at the center of a gracious park dotted with contemporary sculptures and its flower-filled, manicured gardens are home to pheasants who amble freely around.

The awarded fine dining restaurant Acquerello, La Dolce Brasserie and the Clemente Bar’s Sunset Terrace face the iconic skyline of Venice and cater to all culinary desires – various special private dinner areas are offered around the resort.

Guests may relax and exercise in various facilities, including an outdoor swimming pool set among palm trees and surrounded by cabanas and chaise longues, a tennis court, a 3-hole golf driving range, a mile-long jogging track bordering the lagoon, vintage bicycles, a fully equipped indoor/outdoor gym as well as a kids’ club.

An additional highlight of the resort is the awarded indoor and outdoor SPA with an exceptional SPA suite.

About the hotel

The San Clemente Palace Kempinski resort is located on a private island in the heart of the Venetian lagoon, just a ten-minute boat ride from St Mark's Square. Immersed in a centenary park with the historic church of San Clemente - a reminiscence of the monastery that the island has hosted for centuries - the five-star luxury Venetian hotel has 190 rooms, including 61 suites, overlooking the lagoon, the historic courtyards and the lush gardens. With three restaurants and three bars, a spa and a well-equipped fitness room, as well as an outdoor swimming pool, a golf practice course and a tennis court, the San Clemente Palace Kempinski is the perfect retreat after a day in Venice. An independent conference centre with six meeting rooms, a large green area and a variety of unique interior spaces make the island of San Clemente the ideal location for events and weddings.
