Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Gaurav Pokhariyal, Executive Vice President – Human Resources, IHCL, said, “This award is a recognition for IHCL’s comprehensive ESG+ framework of Paathya that drives the company’s sustainability and social impact measures. It is a testament to our commitment to promoting environmental stewardship and responsible tourism.”

IHCL's journey towards this award has been marked by a series of measures aimed at combating plastic waste.

These initiatives include phasing out single-use plastic from all our hotels, elimination of plastic straws, introducing bottling plants, and initiating Zero-single use plastic hotels in the country. Taj Exotica Resort & Spa, Andamans was India’s first ever ‘Zero Single-Use Plastic Hotel’
