The automotive collection – which includes both new and restored vintage Rolls-Royce limousines, Bentley Bentaygas, BMW i7s, and bespoke London black taxis both classic and modern – ensures hotel guests experience The Peninsula’s signature elegance and comfort during every part of their journey.

Since ten of the 13 vehicles are either hybrid or completely electric-powered, the fleet also strives to embody the iconic brand’s commitment to sustainability.

Rolls-Royce Phantom VIII Series II EWB

The Peninsula and Rolls-Royce Motor Cars have enjoyed a legendary partnership since 1970, when the company’s flagship Hong Kong hotel first acquired seven Silver Shadows (at the time, the largest single Rolls-Royce order ever filled). At present, more than 30 superbly customised Rolls-Royce cars reside in the automotive fleets of Peninsula hotels around the world – including, now, two new Phantom VIII Series II Extended Wheelbase Limousines at The Peninsula London.

These exquisite, British-made vehicles include numerous bespoke features, including luggage compartments specially modified to fit up to four large suitcases each; gleaming exterior paint in signature Brewster Green, also known as “Peninsula Green;” interiors lavishly finished in rich leather and burled walnut wood; and thoughtful details like custom treadplates and umbrellas for guest use.

Bespoke Bentayga Hybrid

The Peninsula London’s four new hybrid Bentley Bentaygas provide guests with luxurious, near-silent transportation around the city. The first luxury hybrid SUVs to join a Peninsula fleet, these vehicles’ EV range of up to 28 miles allows the majority of guest journeys to be completed without any CO2. emissions.

The cars’ Peninsula-Green bodywork houses exceptionally plush interior seating compartments, with custom-quilted seat backs, veneered picnic tables, individual entertainment screens, Signature audio systems, Bentley mood lighting, and special Peninsula extras like additional USB sockets to charge devices.

LEVC London Taxi by Clive Sutton

It was a natural choice for The Peninsula London to include a pair of the city’s iconic black taxicabs in its fleet. But the hotel opted for modern, electrically-powered luxury versions, specially created by the automotive experts at Clive Sutton.

Each of these customised Peninsula cabs has been equipped with an array of special fittings, most notably a bespoke open bulkhead – which removes the typical privacy glass between passengers and driver, allowing for conversation as well as a more spacious interior compartment. Each taxi also has generously upholstered seating for up to five guests, thick pile carpeting and smart wood trim, an extra-large drinks fridge, ambient lighting, and Wi-Fi.

BMW i7

Offering spectacular comfort and performance, The Peninsula London’s three BMW i7 electric sedans, kitted out in Peninsula Green, feature sleek design and the latest technology. Inside, passengers can enjoy a luxurious lounge atmosphere with a panoramic glass sunroof; outside, the vehicles turn heads with blue-illuminated “Iconic Glow” kidney grilles. With an EV range of over 360 miles, the cars provide Peninsula London guests with sumptuous, zero-emission travel both within and beyond the city.

1935 Rolls-Royce Phantom II Sedanca De-Ville

Meticulously restored over seven years, an exquisite 1935 Rolls-Royce Phantom II Sedanca De-Ville occupies pride of place among the hotel’s automotive collection. To ensure optimal safety and performance, the car has been outfitted with myriad custom features – such as power-assisted steering, an upgraded electrical system and alternator, twin batteries, increased fans for engine cooling and an electronic ignition.

Other changes have been made to maximise passenger comfort, including the addition of air-conditioning, a modern entertainment system, and a specially-designed cocktail cabinet for en-route libations.

1960 Austin FX4 Sedanca Brougham

A vintage London taxi, carefully restored and electrified by London Electric Cars, is the quirkiest and most playful choice in The Peninsula London’s delightful fleet. Previously owned by Armenian socialite Nubar Gulbenkian, the 1960s-era vehicle is now smartly liveried in Peninsula Green, with wickerwork panelling to the passenger compartment. Silk door pulls, interior lights and vanity units complete the opulent brougham interior, ensuring stylish and comfortable travel for hotel guests.

Of the newly debuted fleet, The Peninsula London’s Managing Director, Sonja Vodusek, said, “It is a great honour to have partnered with London’s finest automotive experts to offer these remarkable vehicles. We hope they will also provide our guests with a supremely luxurious, carbon neutral, and quintessentially Peninsula journey as they explore our beautiful city.”
