Anantara Resorts has announced the appointment of Mark Hehir as General Manager of Anantara Resort Seminyak, Bali, which is slated to open in December 2007.
With a diverse hospitality background including both senior culinary roles as well as hotel management positions, Mark’s character is one that complements the Anantara philosophy and vision. His cutting edge style, zest for Asian culture and creative energy harmonise with Anantara’s commitment to provide guest’s with a truly unique, indigenous and personalised experience.
Originally starting his professional life as an apprentice chef in his hometown Melbourne, Australia, Mark’s career has spanned from the kitchen to hotel operations. By the youthful age of 22 he had been recruited as Senior Chef in one of Melbourne’s most prestigious luxury hotels before joining the Dorchester in London. Only a decade after, he revealed his true culinary aptitude with the highly successful “Five Senses Experience” at Hilton Tokyo’s exclusive restaurant ‘Twenty One’. Mark’s creativity and leadership propelled his career as a chef before taking on restaurant management positions with Hilton in Kuala Lumpur, where he oversaw the opening of 7 food & Beverage operations to award-winning reviews.
Prior to joining Anantara, Mark honed his hotel management skills as Area General Manager at Per Aquum properties in the Maldives. At Huvafen Fushi he excelled in delivering the highest levels of service and provided innovative guest experiences such as visits by the internationally acclaimed DJ Ravin. In addition, he was tasked with heading up the Project Development team for Per Aquum Resorts.
