Karin Spijker has recently joined the island team as Experience Manager. She was born in the Netherlands and arrived in the archipelago in 1996. Being a certified diving instructor for 10 years means that the Maldives and its underwater life hold no secrets for Karin. Her vast diving experience gives her extensive knowledge of the marine environment. Her primary responsibility on the island will be to interact with our guests and enhance their stay through the plentiful outdoor adventures at Baros, as well as to overlook all aspects of environment sustainability. As part of her ambitious programme, she will set up the first Marine Information and Snorkelling Centre at Baros. As well as training and educating personnel, she will add a different dimension to the underwater world by giving marine-life presentations and implementing educational programmes and guided trips. We are delighted to welcome Karin as part of the Baros team and we look forward to all her exciting, new contributions to the island!
