Maurizio Basile has been appointed as General Manager at Borgo Pignano, The Tuscan Haven.
Maurizio was most recently the Executive Assistant Manager at the Relais & Châteaux in Dominican Republic and has previously held various managerial positions at other well-known luxury properties (Belmond, St. Regis, Mandarin Oriental). We asked Maurizio a couple of questions about Borgo Pignano and his new role which he has kindly answered for us below.

As one of many properties in Tuscany, what do you think makes Borgo Pignano stand out from the rest?
MB: To me, it is Borgo Pignano's commitment to sustainability which makes it stand out from the rest. I firmly believe that sustainability must remain one of our core values to ensure that guests, team members, the environment and local communities benefit from what we do. We, as a team, take our responsibility for sustainable development very seriously, which I believe is necessary to run a fully successful business.
What do you hope to bring to Borgo Pignano and how will this effect the client experience?
MB: I hope to encourage our team at Borgo Pignano to become the absolute best they can be. As a result, I hope our guests will have an outstanding and extraordinary experience where the attentiveness and passion of each staff member is noticeable.
