EHL Group: Ecole hôtelière de Lausanne receives green light from Singapore authorities in first milestone for an international campus

Category: Asia Pacific - Singapore - Recruitment / Job / Training
Press release published on 2019-06-19

EHL has been authorized by the Singaporean authorities regulating private education institutions to deliver its Bachelor course in Singapore, receiving the EduTrust certification.

The first cohort of students is expected to start in Singapore in the fall of 2021.

In order to remain the global leader in hospitality management education and to expand the international opportunities of its students, EHL Group has initiated an ambitious plan to open a campus in Singapore, pending confirmation of final details by its Board this fall.

The EduTrust certification scheme sets very high standards and is usually only granted after several years of operation in Singapore. “Receiving the certification prior to the campus opening is a great demonstration of confidence in the quality and excellence of our institution.” said Dr Juan F. Perellon, Chief Risk and Compliance Officer, EHL Group, and Member of the Board of Directors of EHL Campus (Singapore).

André Witschi, Chairman of the EHL Group Board of Governors, adds that “We are grateful for the Singaporean authorities’ go-ahead in this exciting project and we are very much looking forward to establishing a strong international foothold in one of the world’s most dynamic and competitive countries. Receiving this certification is a great milestone which allows us to move forward with the next steps of the project, and namely confirm the location of the premises of our campus in Singapore”.

EHL Campus (Singapore) is set to deliver the same internationally recognized “Bachelor of Science in International Hospitality Management” degree as EHL Campus Lausanne, adding first-hand local market knowledge and experience to the curriculum. This new campus aims to expand the opportunities for future hospitality leaders to thrive in an international landscape.

Candidates can submit an anticipated application to start their Preparatory Year at the EHL Campus Lausanne in September 2020 and then begin their Bachelor course as the first cohort at EHL Campus (Singapore) in the fall of 2021.

“We are proud and delighted to announce this important step in our international growth strategy. We go where the market needs us to be, and our goal to open a campus in Singapore will allow us to remain one step ahead, understanding, shaping and stimulating the global hospitality industry, as we have been doing for over a century”, said Michel Rochat, EHL Group CEO.
