Sun Resorts is proud to announce that they are collaborating with SGS on a new scheme to evaluate the efficacy of cleaning and disinfection procedures to ensure strict standards of cleanliness in order to mitigate the impact of the COVID-19 Pandemic. This scheme consists of a sanitary and hygiene inspection coupled with on-site testing using the latest technology ATP (Adenosine-Triphosphate) or RT qPCR products results available within around 3 hours after sample collection.

The scheme will be officially launched in the coming weeks for the hotel industry in the region and will provide a comprehensive range of occupational health and safety solutions to protect not only guests but also employees.

SGS will also provide post-cleaning validation walk-through inspections as well as assessing the effectiveness of the cleaning and disinfection program of each hotel to stop the extension and persistence of COVID-19.

For SUN, François Eynaud, CEO, “Since COVID-19 has been declared a worldwide pandemic and most countries around the world, including Mauritius, have opted for lockdown and confinement measures, the hospitality industry is suffering as result of suspended operations. Since the beginning of this crisis, our priority is to provide a safe working environment for our associates but also to reassure our guests and partners that our properties are safe places to enjoy their holidays. I strongly believe in collective efforts to bring our destination back on the international map and at SUN, we are delighted to be leading the way. With this new Disinfection Assessment Certificate, we are able to assure all our stakeholders that we remain fully committed to overcoming COVID 19.”

For Cedric Catheline, SGS Managing Director of the Indian Ocean Region, “We have adapted our health and safety procedures to align with COVID-19 requirements. Sanitation of all installations is of the utmost importance to prevent the spread of the virus. SGS will assist by providing on site monitoring to assess the effectiveness of cleaning and disinfection procedures. We are glad to provide such services so that Mauritius and the Indian Ocean region can remain a key destination to all travelers.”
