Four Seasons Hotel Doha opens its doors to a new personality for 2008. Direct from the fast-pace and high-octane living of New York, Sven Wiedenhaupt brings an exciting and fresh dynamic to the Hotel team in his new role as Hotel Manager and deputy to Simon Casson, long standing General Manager.
With an energetic and enthusiastic approach to everything he does in life (including the three Terry Fox charity runs he has already completed), Sven is set to impress with his sense of fun as well his 19 years of hotel management experience. And if that doesn’t make an impression, then his 6´2˝ physique is sure to turn a few heads as strides through the Hotel lobby.
Sven joins Four Seasons Hotel Doha from the “Big Apple” where he spent four years at Four Seasons Hotel New York as Director of Food & Beverage. Despite his recent promotion to Hotel Manager, Sven is certain to maintain his passion for food and wine, and will undoubtedly bring elements of this interest to his new role in Qatar.
Until now, the majority of Sven’s hospitality career has been spent in the USA. Prior to joining the Four Seasons group, he worked for Intercontinental Hotel Group’s The Barclay in New York City. He has also worked for a number of other four and five-star properties in areas as diverse as California and Wisconsin.
Sven, who is originally from Germany, speaks three languages and was trained at L’Ecole Hotelière de Lausanne, Switzerland. He also counts a number of internships in Europe at properties such as Hotel Lausanne Palace, as part of his training.
Less than a year into his recent marriage, Sven brings his new wife, Michele, with him to Qatar to share his Arabian adventure.
