Located at the serene Luhuitou Bay, on the southern coast of Hainan Island, a truly unique spa experience awaits at one of China’s most luxurious spa addresses, Banyan Tree Spa Sanya. This magnificent spa, set against a lush landscape providing a spectacular backdrop to the spa experience, soft opened on 20 April 2008.
Banyan Tree Spa Sanya is designed to combine delightful Chinese details with a distinctive tropical minimalism. The development features eight Spa Pavilions, which spans across an area of five thousand square-metres, an eight hundred square-metre Hydrothermal Experience and extensive fitness and wellness facilities.

The spa boasts 16 treatment spa treatment suites with two spa treatment suites in each of the eight Spa Pavilions. Each suite is well-equipped with twin spa treatment beds, an outdoor bath tub and steam showers overlooking a tranquil tropical garden and comes complete with either a Banyan Tree Spa signature Rainmist treatment room or a dedicated area for Thai massage.
Guests will have the chance to experience innovative spa therapies such as the Rainmist experiences based on the Five Elements concept. For the first time, Banyan Tree Spa presents tailored spa experiences catered specially to the needs of the ladies and the gentlemen with Yin Packages for Ladies and Yang Packages for Gentlemen.
Combining the best of its signature spa treatments with its state-of-the-art hydrothermal facilities, a series of Spa & Hydrothermal Experiences are created for guests to maximise their spa experience.
Hydrothermal Experience
A haven of serenity, guests may choose from a variety of Hydrothermal Experiences (including Rain Shower Corridor, Swiss Shower, Hot Dip Pool, Spa Jet Pool, Turkish Hammam, Ice Fountain and Sauna) and four carefully designed Spa & Hydrothermal Packages. Professional Banyan Tree Spa Therapists
In May 2001, the Banyan Tree Phuket Spa Academy was established to provide dedicated training facilities to ensure that therapists consistently deliver the high quality treatments that guests have come to expect. Accredited by Thailand’s Education and Public Health Ministries, Spa Academy therapists undergo at least 300 hours of rigorous theoretical and practical training. To support the expansion of Banyan Tree Spas in China, Banyan Tree Lijiang Spa Academy, China opened in May 2007 to train a dedicated pool of talented Chinese therapists well-versed to deliver the high service standards of the Banyan Tree Spa experience.
