Stefan Bauer has been appointed as Food & Beverage Manager for the 255-room Hilton Beijing Wangfujing, scheduled to open in July 2008. Bauer will oversee all aspects of the new hotel’s Food & Beverage department, which will operate two restaurants, two lounges, in-room dining, the executive lounge and the hotel’s state-of-the art meeting space.

A sophisticated and accomplished hotelier, Bauer will draw upon his immense experience to ensure that the food quality, presentation and overall service within the hotel’s Food & Beverage operations is held to the highest standards. Commenting on this appointment, General Manager Nils-Arne Schroeder said, “Stefan brings extraordinary experience and a strong record of success to this position. His background is well suited to our clientele, which includes a significant number of visitors from international locations as well as sophisticated resident diners in Beijing.”

Bauer’s career with Hilton Hotels began in 1999, at the fashionable London Hilton on Park Lane where he was a Food & Beverage trainee. His drive for service excellence along with his commitment to guest engagement and passion for innovation, culminated in a steady climb up the corporate ladder to management expertise.

Bauer stated, “The opportunity to come to Beijing and be part of a region of substantial growth within our company is a unique challenge for me. Beijing is a vibrant and exciting city, poised to become an epicurean destination in its own right, and I feel privileged to play a part in this development.”

His objective for Hilton Beijing Wangfujing is to position the Food & Beverage outlets as the finest and most exciting venues in the Beijing market. He continued, “The fine dining experience at Hilton Hotels has a solid reputation for innovation, upon which we can build. Our goal now is to take our world-renowned service and unique design concepts to the next level, aiming to surpass our guests’ expectations on every visit.”

A native of Austria, Bauer graduated with honors from the Hotel & Restaurant Management College, of Salzburg, Austria.
