Sol Meliá has named Denis G. Ebrill as the new Executive Vice President of Sol Meliá Vacation Club to lead the company’s strategy in the vacation club business, one of the key areas of growth and development for Sol Meliá over the coming years.

After the successful launch of the Sol Meliá Vacation Club business under the leadership of Alain Grangé, the Spanish hotel chain, which boasts the largest resort portfolio in the world, will focus on the integration of the Vacation Club business with its other business areas and the implementation of its global strategy.

“We are delighted to have Denis join our executive team” said Gabriel Escarrer Jaume, Co-CEO of Sol Melia Hotels & Resorts. “Given our focus on providing our Sol Meliá Vacation Club members with world class hotel services in luxurious vacation club surroundings, we conducted an extensive search for a leader with a rounded background in both the hotel and the vacation club industries, with an emphasis on international experience. Denis was one of the very few candidates who met those criteria. Sol Meliá Vacation Club complements the Sol Meliá hotel business providing its customers with a “Premium” vacation alternative in the finest destinations in the Americas and Europe. This appointment also completes the formation of the new Sol Meliá Senior Executive Team, which will focus on maximising synergies between the Vacation Club business and other Sol Meliá business areas (Hotels and Leisure Real Estate). In addition we will be enhancing the growth of the Vacation Club business, particularly in Europe, a region in which Sol Meliá is currently developing luxury vacation club units in some of the finest beach and golf resorts, including the Gran Meliá Palacio de Isora on the island of Tenerife. We are extremely grateful to Alain” he continued “for the excellent job he has done in getting us to where we are today with some of the finest vacation club resort properties in the industry.”

Ebrill has extensive international experience in both the hotel and vacation club businesses having occupied several senior management positions, most recently with Starwood. His appointment further demonstrates the commitment of the third largest hotel chain in Europe to constant innovation and to the development of exciting new leisure properties and service alternatives to provide even greater benefits for its loyal customers.
