THE FAIRMONT SAN FRANCISCO ROLLS OUT EXCITING CALENDAR OF EVENTS INCLUDING TONGA ROOM LUAU TO BENEFIT THE LEUKEMIA AND LYMPHOMA SOCIETY

March 25 – May 29, 2010

Fairmont Hotels & Resorts of California Aims to Raise $125,000 in Fight Against Cancer

The California Collection of Fairmont Hotels & Resorts is partnering with The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) to define the true spirit of hospitality – by working collectively to raise funds to support vital research for a cure and to provide financial, educational and social services for individuals affected by blood cancer and their loved ones during a 10-week fund-raising campaign beginning March 25.

Having dedicated his career to delivering the ultimate guest experience, Regional Vice President and General Manager of The Fairmont San Francisco Thomas Klein explains, “The guest experience is all about the human experience – being taken care of by people who care about your well-being in a nurturing and uplifting environment. It’s only natural that we support The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society because LLS’ funding of blood cancer research can be the gateway to curing other cancers.”

The Fairmont San Francisco; Fairmont Heritage Place, Ghirardelli Square; The Fairmont Sonoma Mission Inn & Spa; The Fairmont San Jose; The Fairmont Newport; and Fairmont Miramar Hotel & Bungalows in Santa Monica are each offering engaging promotions and events in the name of LLS.

THE LEUKEMIA & LYMPHOMA SOCIETY

Since 1949, The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society has invested more than $680 million in research to find the cause and cure for blood cancers. This research has led to groundbreaking treatments -- such as chemotherapy, radiation and stem cell transplantation – that are vital to treating many forms of cancer. 76 percent of LLS’ budget goes directly to research, patient services, education and advocacy. As a non-profit agency, LLS relies exclusively on donations from individuals and corporations. For more information, please visit www.lls.org.
