Award-winning private eco retreat offers honeymoons and weddings fit for a king

As the Royal Wedding approaches, the Seychelles’ pioneering luxury eco resort, Frégate Island Private, is being widely tipped as a possible honeymoon destination for Prince William and Kate Middleton. Having rekindled their romance on a holiday to the Seychelles in 2007, speculation is mounting that the newlyweds will return for the ultimate honeymoon at the ultra-exclusive Frégate Island Private - named one of the world’s most photogenic places in the British Journal of Photography, and home to Anse Victorin, frequently voted the world’s most beautiful beach. As a keen supporter of conservation projects, William would also enjoy seeing some of the island’s fascinating rare endemic species, whose conservation has earned Frégate a place as a finalist in this year’s Tourism for Tomorrow Awards.

An island of outstanding natural beauty, Frégate is a blissfully peaceful eco retreat with verdant, tropical interiors and an abundance of unique fauna and flora, the preservation, protection and nurture of which is a fundamental raison d’être. The happy couple could spend time exploring the island’s jungle interior and dramatic coastline via shaded walking paths; spot rare, protected species, from Aldabra giant tortoises and Magpie Robins to the giant Tenebrionid beetle - unique to the island; or simply relax on one of Frégate’s seven secluded dream beaches.

Frégate Island Private can also arrange unique bespoke weddings for discerning, environmentally conscious couples looking to be treated like royalty on their big day. Dedicated planners take care of everything, from the service itself to floral arrangements, photographer and entertainment, as well as spoiling the happy couple with a host of unforgettable complimentary romantic experiences. For those who really want to feel like king and queen for a day, the island can even be booked exclusively.
Prices for direct bookings start from €2,700 (approx. GB£2,395 at today’s exchange rate) per villa per night, based on two sharing for a minimum three night stay on a full board basis, excluding tax and service. Prices for exclusive bookings on application.
