Brand New Windermere Suite opens at Lakeside Hotel, Cumbria

Great Hotels of the World are pleased to announce The Lakeside Hotel in Lake Windermere is now able to offer companies complete exclusivity with the opening of their new ‘Windermere Suite’. They have redeveloped the former Boathouse Hotel, located opposite Lakeside to create a contemporary and self-contained venue to host conferences and events. This will allow delegates endless open space combined with seclusion and confidentiality. Flooded with natural daylight, the Suite accommodates up to 100 people. But its unique design can appeal to groups of as few as 30 delegates, as their innovative switchable glass screen between the conference room and the lounge allows guests to create two separate rooms at the touch of a button.

The main suite is air conditioned and has an integrated AV system, enabling quick connection of any laptop to the large projection screen. Two further plasma relay screens ensure that an entire audience is able to view the information. The layout of the suite is perfect as the paved terrace at the rear of the Suite has spectacular views over the Lake District, providing the perfect environment for informal drinks and al fresco entertaining after a full day of meetings. Delegates will also have complete access to all the Lakeside Hotel’s facilities including their restaurant, brasserie, bar, conservatory, terrace and spa.

Hesperia Tower Barcelona showcases Philips Consumer Lifestyle Products in their Redesigned Reception Rooms

The luxury Hesperia Tower Hotel in Barcelona, designed by Richard Rogers, has spent the last two months showcasing new Philips consumer lifestyle products in their reception rooms, measuring an impressive 500m. The successful event brought together at least 7,000 Philips global retail customers and Philips representatives. Since the hotel was confirmed in December 2008 as the venue for the event by Great Hotels of the World, a great deal of preparation was needed to achieve the remarkable aesthetics for the final presentation. The hotel’s multipurpose Convention and Conference Centre, which underwent a major refurbishment prior to the event, was divided into more than 20 different spaces and exhibited the different product ranges of the Dutch multinational company.

The 500m space was used to exhibit products belonging to all product categories of Philips Consumer Lifestyle, such as televisions, kitchen appliances and skin and hair care. Nearly 8,500 room nights were needed for the groups of customers, visitors and Philips representatives who came to the event from all over the world. Retail customers included Media Markt, El Corte Inglés and Amazon. Nearly 7,000 people visited the exhibition and Hesperia Tower Hotel offered 8500 comfortable stays and served 11,500 meals and 14,000 coffee breaks for the duration of the exhibition.
