St. Regis set to open atop Shenzhen’s tallest building late 2011; Raising the bar for service and sophistication in China’s most modern city

The St. Regis brand will soon arrive in Shenzhen with the opening of The St. Regis Shenzhen, set to open in late 2011 atop the new Kingkey 100-story building; the tallest building in Shenzhen and the eighth tallest in the world. Like the landmark building in which it resides, The St. Regis Shenzhen will introduce Shenzhen and the region to a new level of uncompromising service and modern sophistication, appealing to the most discerning travelers and local tastemakers.

“We are looking forward to introducing the St. Regis brand to Shenzhen and southern China,” said Stephen Ford, General Manager of The St. Regis Shenzhen. “The St. Regis Shenzhen is the ultimate urban address that will offer a new benchmark of flawless service, classic sophistication and modern luxury that has yet to be seen in Shenzhen.”

Designed by famed architect Sir Terry Farrell, The St. Regis Shenzhen occupies the top 28 floors of the Kingkey 100 building, a stunning steel and glass tower that is transforming the city’s modern skyline. The tower is located within easy walking distance of Shenzhen’s key financial and retail centers, including the Shenzhen Stock Exchange, the high end KK Mall and the Da Ju Yuan Metro Station, which offers quick access to the rest of the city. Its prestigious address, iconic setting, bespoke services, and one-of-a-kind amenities will elevate The St. Regis Shenzhen to be the new social and business center for Shenzhen.

Iconic Accommodations and Legendary Service
The St. Regis Shenzhen seamlessly blends Old World elegance with modern convenience and luxury. Towering from the 73rd to the 100th floor, the hotel features offers 257 guest rooms and 40 suites, sumptuously appointed with thoroughly modern amenities and spectacular views, providing travelers with a unique luxurious sanctuary amidst the hectic urban setting. The top floors of the tower offer a diverse selection of signature restaurants and unique lounges, as well as a world-class spa on the 75th floor featuring an indoor swimming pool with stunning, birds-eye views of the city below.

The St. Regis Shenzhen is the first hotel in Shenzhen to offer the legendary St. Regis Butler Service for all guests, setting a new white glove standard of service for visitors to the city. Trained in the English tradition to provide ever-present, yet unobtrusive round the clock service, the St. Regis Butler sets the stage for an experience that caters to individual requests, no matter how great or small, at any hour of the day and night.

Reaching New Culinary Heights
A wide array of world-class restaurants and lounges are situated on the top floors of the hotel, where outstanding views accompany exceptional cuisine. Located on the 95th floor, Tian Gong is an intimate, elegant Chinese restaurant offering private dining in one of five stunning dining rooms, the first concept of its kind in Shenzhen. Perfect for small gatherings of friends and colleagues, the culinary team at Tian Gong will prepare a personalized menu of Cantonese specialties paired with wine. Also on the 95th floor, Social offers all day dining featuring international cuisine and endless views in a lively atmosphere with an open kitchen. Elba, located on the 99th floor, offers authentic Mediterranean dining and fine wines in an elegant, lively atmosphere centered around an open kitchen. Located in the St. Regis Lobby on the 96th floor, The St. Regis Bar and the Drawing Room bring back the hotel glamour of the early 20th century with classic cocktails and the enduring tradition of afternoon tea. Decanter, on the 100th floor, is a sky-high urban wine bar offering Shenzhen’s largest selection of wines alongside breathtaking views and a private tasting room for small gatherings. On the penthouse level, the St. Regis Shenzhen introduces a new concept with Malt and Library, the city’s first whisky and cigar bar featuring an extensive menu of single malts served with exquisite Cubans and never ending views.

Elevating Business Meetings & Special Events
Shenzhen is one of China’s most cosmopolitan, successful and affluent cities, and a key center of business and finance with dozens of international corporate offices, making the St. Regis Shenzhen the perfect hub for business travelers. With an address that defines stature and social distinction, the St. Regis Shenzhen is poised to become the city’s leading venue for corporate gatherings, high society weddings and parties, and high-profile product launches.

The St. Regis Shenzhen offers 2,100 square meters of meeting and function space available including a beautiful ballroom and eight separate event rooms with versatile layouts and state-of-the-art amenities. The St. Regis team of highly skilled professionals will ensure that the venue is transformed according to bespoke specifications for exclusive meetings or celebratory functions.

Ideal Urban Address
The St. Regis Shenzhen ideally located in the middle of Shenzhen’s financial and shopping district, just a short walk away from key business and shopping centers. Shenzhen Baoan International Airport, a short drive from the hotel, offers hundreds of flights weekly to China, Asia and dozens of international cities. South China’s high speed rail system will soon connect with Shenzhen, linking it with high-speed service to Tianjin, Beijing, Shanghai and, eventually, Hong Kong.

With its location in the Caiwuwei financial center, the St. Regis Shenzhen is just an elevator ride away from the KK Mall, offering high-end shopping in the lower floors of the building. The Shenzhen Stock Exchange and the Di Wang building are only a short walk from the hotel. To easily reach other destinations, the Da Ju Yuan Metro Station is less than 1km, or a five-minute walk. Other nearby destinations include the popular Dongmen Shopping Center and beautiful Litchi Park.

The St. Regis Shenzhen is also close to one of the most beautiful parks in China, the Lake of the Immortals Botanical Gardens, as well as Lianhua Mountain Park, Shenzhen Mangrove Reserve, and Wutong Mountain National Park.

Further, Shenzhen has some of China’s most picturesque beaches as well as spectacular theme parks and golf courses, including the world’s largest course, Mission Hills.
