Hilton Worldwide (NYSE: HLT) and Hilton Hotels & Resorts today announced the opening of Hilton Urumqi, which also marks the brand's debut in Xinjiang, China. Xinjiang shares a border with Russia, India, Pakistan and other countries, contributing to the diversity of this province. It is also China's largest natural gas producing region. Hilton Urumqi is owned by Junfa Group and managed by Hilton Worldwide. This hotel will be the latest addition to Hilton Worldwide's Greater China portfolio of 57 operating hotels.

"As the capital of the spectacular province of Xinjiang, a gateway for transnational travel, as well as a hub for trade and cultural exchange, Urumqi is one of the most important cities in northwest China," said Bruce McKenzie, senior vice president, operations, Greater China & Mongolia, Hilton Worldwide. "Urumqi is a great location for the latest addition to Hilton Worldwide's China portfolio. With the opening of Hilton Urumqi, we have further extended our footprint in China and continue to demonstrate our strong commitment to this market."

The 383-room Hilton Urumqi is located in a landmark building in the Hongguang Hill CBD, close to the Hongguang Hill Ecological Tourism Garden and Xinjiang International Convention and Exhibition Center. The hotel also provides easy access to many forms of transportation that connect guests to business locations and popular attractions such as Xinjiang International Grand Bazaar, which is 10 kilometers away and TianChi (Heavenly Lake), which is 80 kilometers from the hotel.

"Urumqi is one of the largest cities in Western China and is a significant stop along the ancient Silk Road, leading to Central Asia and even as far as into Europe," said Rob Palleschi, global head, full service brands, Hilton Worldwide. "With a population of over three and a half million, and global recognition as a booming industrial city in its own right, the addition of Hilton Urumqi in this increasingly important destination marks an exciting milestone for the brand as we continue to deliver unmatched hospitality experiences for both business and leisure travelers."
While offering magnificent views of the province's stunning and diverse landscape, which includes snowcapped mountains and desert plains, Hilton Urumqi also offers guests tastefully-decorated rooms, each with a marble bathroom, with separate bath and rain shower. All rooms have luxurious bedding, as well as a 42-inch LCD TV and WiFi. In addition, guests who opt for executive rooms and suites enjoy exclusive access to the Executive Lounge.

Hilton Urumqi has comprehensive meetings facilities, with 10 versatile function spaces totaling 3,000 square meters, including a 1,550 square meter Grand Ballroom that can accommodate 1,000 guests and a spacious pre-function area with natural light. All venues are equipped with high-speed wired and wireless Internet and the latest in audio-visual technology. With a 24-hour business center, banqueting facilities and the support of the hotel's professional events team, guests and delegates can be assured of seamless and successful meetings and gatherings, including conferences, cocktail events and wedding receptions.

Hilton Urumqi has six restaurants and bars. At the all-day dining restaurant, U-Cafe, guests can enjoy authentic Indian, Arab and Western cuisines, as well as Chinese specialties. The open kitchens of U-Cafe are shared with NODO, which has a tasty selection of noodle dishes and dumplings. For fine dining, guests can make lunch or dinner reservations at the sophisticated Yuxi Chinese restaurant, which combines Cantonese specialties with regional culinary traditions. The vibrant Silk Road offers the finest Muslim cuisine with a focus on fresh seasonal produce. The Lobby Lounge is an atmospheric space with colorful lights and cushions, comfortable low seats and intricate carpets, which all contribute to a Middle Eastern vibe. Jasmine Tea House, with its decorative displays of tea sets and tea jars, is the perfect venue to catch up with friends over Hilton's signature afternoon tea.

Recreational facilities at Hilton Urumqi include a 24-hour fitness center, spa facilities, an indoor swimming pool, as well as a yoga room and table tennis equipment. The hotel also has an on-site convenience store for guests to pick up snacks and daily essentials.

As part of the Hilton Worldwide portfolio, Hilton Urumqi offers Hilton HHonors guest loyalty program members the opportunity to earn and redeem HHonors Points for their stays. To celebrate the hotel's opening, Hilton HHonors members who stay at Hilton Urumqi between August 29, 2015, and February 29, 2016, will enjoy double Hilton HHonors points. Along with the HHonors Points, members also enjoy the lowest rates with Hilton's Best Price Guarantee, digital check-in, as well as a booking fee waiver when they book directly through Hilton.
