The Prague Renaissance Hotel in Czech Republic will undergo a complete refurbishment and transformation and debut as the new Hilton Prague Old Town on November 1, 2007. The hotel will be operated by Hilton.

Interior designer Alexandra Champalimaud, noted for her work at The Boca Raton Resort & Club and New York’s Carlyle Hotel, will oversee the renovation of the 300-room property including the addition of 15 new suites and a Presidential Suite. David Collins, recognized for his innovative and visionary work on The London NYC, Nobu Berkeley Street, the Blue Bar at the Berkeley, Claridge’s Hotel and the National Gallery, will restore the hotel’s public spaces and restaurant and introduce his modern design vision to reflect the architecture of Prague, finding inspiration from the city’s great architectural landmarks and artisan traditions with a subtle nod to Czech Modernism and the Cubism movement.

The renowned chef Gordon Ramsay, currently holding ten Michelin –stars, makes his Prague debut with the opening of Maze at Hilton Prague Old Town. The restaurant offers a casual dining experience for guests, with seating for 138, alongside a cocktail bar that will serve up to 71 people. Modeled on the concept of Gordon Ramsay’s celebrated
British restaurant, Maze, the restaurant offers a menu of signature tasting dishes. Guests of the hotel will also be able to order from a special in room dining menu created by Gordon and his team. Jason Atherton of Maze London will oversee the standards of service and the creation of the menu. Phillip Carmichael will serve as Head chef, who had previously worked under Jason Atherton for two and a half years.

Hilton Prague Old Town entire transformation will be completed in November, including the rooms and will feature a revitalized reception and lobby, chic new cocktail bar, restaurant, meeting rooms and new retail space. Modern and functional, the hotel’s new meeting rooms offer a unique meeting experience and increased event capabilities with the expansion of the hotel’s ballroom from 215 to 340 square meters.

“This move marks a significant step in our commitment to enhance and develop our accommodation offering across Eastern Europe. As our eighth hotel to open in the region it reinforces our focus on this key market and is without a doubt an exciting addition to our international portfolio as we aim to become the first choice of the world’s travellers,” commented Wolfgang M. Neumann, President of Hilton Hotels- Europe. “With two properties now situated in the historic location we anticipate the opening of Hilton Prague Old Town will help us develop new business opportunities in the Czech capital and be warmly received by business and leisure travellers alike.”

Centrally located in the heart of downtown Prague, the hotel is less than 30 minutes from the airport and is located within walking distance from the Old Town Square and historical landmarks including the Charles Bridge and Wenceslas Square.
