Robert Nelson and Hee-Won Lim to Direct Southern California Resort &
Conference Center's 'Re-invention'

In the next 60 days a
new Pacific Palms Resort will emerge from an extensive $60 million
renovation that includes updating rooms, introducing a new restaurant
experience, a spectacular new spa and boutique, unveiling its two updated
championship golf courses and modernizing all of the meeting space and
business amenities. To complement the new look, Pacific Palms Resort &
Conference Center has named Robert Nelson as Vice President & Managing
Director of the spectacular Southern California resort and conference
center. Joining Nelson is the recently named Vice President of Operations
Hee Won Lim, a 19-year Disney veteran. The two will head up the team to
complete the extensive resort 're-invention' that positions 650 acre
Pacific Palms as the only 'true' destination resort property in Los Angeles
and Orange counties.
For Nelson, the move to Pacific Palms continues a hospitality career
that has included senior management positions with many of the top resort
and private country club operations in the country. Most recently, Nelson
served as VP, Hospitality & Golf Operations at The Woodlands, directing its
renowned hotel, resort, golf and country club assets and Senior Vice
President for Golf Host Resort's nationally recognized resort and golf
operations in Florida and Colorado.
Nelson's resort and development background made him the natural choice
for the recently renovated and soon-to-be repositioned Pacific Palms
Conference Resort. The assignment will allow Nelson to use his broad
experience to create a seamless integration of the property's world-class
amenities, including The Spa at Pacific Palms, Southern California's
newest, two championship golf courses -- The Ike and The Babe, a 45,000
square foot IACC recognized conference center, critically acclaimed dining
at Cima and Elements restaurants and a 650 acre, lushly landscaped setting
complete with impressive views of the San Gabriel Valley from a glorious
hilltop location.
"Bob's background in resort and golf operations, marketing and
development presented us with the perfect candidate for Pacific Palms,"
said John Semcken, the Resort's co-owner. "To ensure our success, we need
to optimize all resort amenities. We're confident the selection of Bob,
along with our experienced team including our recently named Vice President
of Operations, Hee Won Lim, will ensure that success."
Heading up the new lifestyle Spa, opening November 2007, will be
Maureen Vipperman, a veteran of the spa industry with experience working
for Marriott and other prestigious hotel brands. With a decade of operating
high end resort spas, Vipperman, also a professor of Spa Management and
Hospitality at UC Irvine, brings a wealth of five-star savvy and
unparalleled experience to the Spa at Pacific Palms. Elements Bar and Grill
will get its culinary identity from newly hired Chef de Cuisine, Todd
Meyer, who has worked at such properties as the Four Seasons Hotels in
Newport Beach and Honolulu Four Seasons. In addition, the resort's renowned
and newly refurbished golf courses will be led under the masterful watch of
Dave Youpa, the continuing Director of Golf, who has been a member of the
Pacific Palms family for over 15 years, rising through the ranks from
Assistant Golf Pro to Head Golf Pro, and eventually to Director of Golf
throughout his tenure. The new Golf Pro Shop has been receiving rave
reviews since opening earlier this year and the Crystal Palms Boutique is
another new shopping venue at the resort offering top-of-the-line, unique
products for guests to take home with them.
With the leadership team now assembled and with the completion of spa,
restaurant, boutique, and golf course coming together, the Pacific Palms
Resort is welcoming a new era as one of California's finest resorts and
meeting destinations.
