For the month of June, Hullett House is proud to feature celebrated Spanish Chef Jordi Valles Claverol’s cuisine at The Parlour. Chef Jordi, comes to Hong Kong after cooking a dinner hosted by the President of Catalonia, the Honourable José Montilla Aguilera. Catalonia, the region of Northern Spain with Barcelona as its capital, is famous for its contemporary Spanish cuisine. He was handpicked to cook for this special evening, from a small selection of Spanish Chefs currently working in Beijing, because of his innovative and delicate interpretation of traditional Spanish cuisine. While in Hong Kong, Chef Jordi will be cooking up a limited selection of his signature dishes at The Parlour, Hullett House from June 4th.

While in Beijing, Chef Jordi was the culinary inspiration behind Spanish restaurant, agua, which featured a menu heavily accented on the more refined tastes of Northern Spain, lighter in texture and taste. agua is Hullett House’s sister – both owned and managed by aqua restaurant group.

At The Parlour, Chef Jordi, who gained his experience from Michelin starred restaurants in France and Spain, will introduce Hong Kong diners to a sampling of his signature dishes such as Carrillera de ternera lacada, con ciruelas en vino y mazana – Slow Cooked Veal Cheek with Plums in Red Wine and Apple; and Torrija con crema catalana - Traditional Spanish Torrija with Catalan Cream. His style of cooking has strong emphasis on using traditional Spanish recipes, using the best produce and he designs his dishes in a contemporary fashion without losing the true identity of its origins.

Over the past two years Chef Jordi and agua restaurant received many accolades including City Weekend Reader Awards “Restaurant of the Year 2009”, City Weekend Reader Awards “Best Service”, City Weekend Reader Awards “Chef of the Year 2009 ”, and Time Out Beijing (English) “Best International Cuisine”. Chef Jordi has become a household name and an authority of Spanish cuisine amongst foodies in mainland China. In 2009, he was invited to be a contributing author of the first Chinese and Spanish language cook book published by Instituto Cervantes in Beijing and the Spanish Embassy in Beijing.
