Fairmont Hotels & Resorts today announced the opening of Fairmont Baku, Flame Towers, the luxury brand’s first development in the emerging destination of Azerbaijan. Located within the highest part of the city in the heart of Baku’s vibrant centre, Fairmont Baku lies within one of the three Flame Towers: an extraordinary, award-winning, new development, now the tallest building complex in the country.

Described by some as one of the most audacious buildings of modern times, the Flame Towers’ three columns are an apt symbol for this “land of fire”. Extraordinary as it seems, HOK International, the architects behind the project, brought the ambitious building to life from a single inspired sketch.

The new 36-floor property, opening initially with 140 rooms and suites, will feature 318 spacious well-appointed guestrooms, suites and apartments, all with spectacular views of the city of Baku, the old Inner City or the Caspian Sea. Working seamlessly with the design of the building, interior designer HBA International has created crisp, modern interiors. The neutral palette is accented by bursts of color progressing up the tower culminating with the Royal Suite, featuring rich, deep burgundy tones and finishes. Custom pieces, such as a dramatic six meter (20 foot) glass chandelier formed in the shape of water droplets, catch the eye in the 17 meter (56 foot) lobby area. A world-class, contemporary art collection, commissioned and collated by Farmboy Fine Arts, further complements the building’s innovative design.

The premier accommodation is all about the view and is situated on the higher levels of the hotel with automatic access to the private Fairmont Gold Lounge. The suites range from one bedroom, boasting a vast 100 square meters (1,076 square feet) of space to the 120 square meter (1,291 square feet) Caspian Sea Suite with its double height windows looking out over the water, to the 140 square meter (1,506 square feet) Grand One Bedroom Suites and up to the Royal Two Bedroom Suite with its lofted ceilings, sumptuous décor and its 375 square meters of space (4,036 square feet) – perfect for work or for play – and all featuring the latest technology.

The hotel will boast the very best in local dining and entertainment, with several restaurants, bars and lounges including an authentic French patisserie and a specialty steak-house. In addition, the 57 Fairmont Gold guestrooms and dedicated Fairmont Gold Lounge are equipped to serve the most discerning of travelers whilst a state-of-the-art health club and luxurious ESPA spa facility opening late summer and including indoor and outdoor pools, will help keep business and leisure travelers alike in peak condition. Perfect for events and meetings, Fairmont Baku, Flame Towers will offer over 2,500 square meters (26,910 square feet) of multi-use function space, including two ballrooms.

Introductory rates for Fairmont Baku, Flame Towers, Azerbaijan start at AZE260 for a double room excluding service and tax.

On the highest part of the city of Baku, Azerbaijan’s vibrant capital, lies one of the most extra-ordinary and audacious building complexes of modern times. Known as the Flame Towers, the building’s three columns, designed in the shape and essence of a flame, are an apt symbol for this historic “land of fire”.

Fairmont Baku, Flame Towers, Azerbaijan, will occupy the northern-most tower of this mixed use complex designed by HOK International, offering 318 rooms, suites and apartments, over 2,300 square meters (25,000 square feet) of meeting space, an ESPA facility and several restaurants, bars and lounges including an authentic French patisserie and a specialty steak-house. The tallest building in Azerbaijan, the Flame Towers complex enjoys an enviable location adjacent to the Azerbaijan parliament buildings and Baku’s ancient Inner City, overlooking the Caspian Sea.
