Hong Kong’s chicly-styled lobby lounge, Ebb & Flow, in the rejuvenated The Park Lane Hong Kong, a Pullman Hotel, is the world’s first to debut “Artist Playground” as part of Pullman Brand’s Global Art Initiative. Featuring celebrated Hong Kong-based US photographer, Mr Michael Kistler to present Melt with You, a series of unconventional perspectives and one-of-a-kind moments of collision, co-existence and merging of Hong Kong’s cityscape and urbanites through his artistic lenses from now on.

The Hotel’s artistic exhibition is an exemplification of Pullman brand’s signature global art initiative - which promises to bring the design vision of artists and designers around the world to life at the forefront of the space. First to launch in Hong Kong, the “Artist Playground” is open to guests and the general public, the dynamic exhibition will last for four months.

The well-cultivated art offering will comprise of different components, ranging from fixed iconic art installations and contemporary pieces around the “Artist Playground”.

“We are delighted to be the pioneer of Pullman’s art initiatives ‘Artist Playground’ in the world.  Art is a huge draw for millennials and global nomads we welcome from around the world,” shared General Manager, Mr Luc Bollen.

Following the success of the Hotel’s previous exhibitions, including that of Austrian photographer Paul Kolp and award-winning Chinese artist Mao Yanyang, the internationally acclaimed curator GalerieJunger again curates a variety of eight artworks from the “Melt with You” series bringing captured moments of the distinctive characteristics of urban life in Hong Kong to Ebb & Flow.  Particularly known for his ability to articulate in images the contrast between the permanence of the cityscape and the fluidity of people, Kistler’s artwork single-handedly captures the transience experienced the gritty locale of Chung King Mansion in TsimShaTsui.

Delving into the night, guests can expect to be intrigued by a kaleidoscope of neon-lights from shop signs off busy streets blurred into the faceless people who walk the city through the collection of prints and a digital display on the TV wall in the hotel lobby. True to Pullman Hotel’s signature art initiatives, the “Artist Playground” cocktail launch and vernissage invites VIPs, corporate professionals and media to partake in Kistler’s artistic and dynamic world today (27 September 2016).

Born in Minneapolis, Kistler has spent fifteen years in Asia. In many ways, Kistler’s story is that of every man in Hong Kong – where a mixture of backgrounds and a life split in different geographies are embedded into the DNA of a majority who live in the city.

“Kistler is the perfect partner for our exhibition as his urban photography showcases the essence of Hong Kong, and at the same time, aligns with The Park Lane Hong Kong, a Pullman Hotel’s  home-grown brand with a strong passion and pride for the city we call ‘home’,” said Bollen.

A contemporary, buzzing spot at the heart of the hotel, Ebb & Flow blends modern design, cutting edge technology, and a gastronomic bar menu, creating a buzzing hotspot steps away from the picturesque and iconic Victoria Park.

Seating 80 people, Ebb & Flow occupies 2,475 sq ft.  Opens daily from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 a.m., it is located on G/F, The Park Lane Hong Kong, a Pullman Hotel - 310 Gloucester Road, Causeway Bay, Hong Kong.
