As of 9 January 2017, Robert Herr will be in charge of the preopening activities of the Bürgenstock Resort Lake Lucerne as General Manager. Bruno Schöpfer, Managing Director of operating company Katara Hospitality Switzerland AG and project owner of the Bürgenstock Resort is delighted to have gained an internationally experienced hotelier in Robert Herr for the Bürgenstock Resort. Robert Herr is a graduate of the Lausanne Hotel School with an MBA from Henley Business School and has many years’ experience in luxury hotels in seven countries on three continents. Until recently, he worked as Area General Manager for InterContinental Phoenicia and Le Vendôme Beirut. Robert Herr is Swiss, grew up in Germany and will be moving with his wife and two children to Central Switzerland.
 
Astrid Kaiser joined the team as HR Manager on 1 December 2016. She will head the resort’s Human Resources department and coordinate the demanding search for staff. Astrid Kaiser is an experienced hotelier, a Swiss certified HR professional and has an MAS in operational training and competence management. In particular, she has worked for many years in an HR management position for the ZFV group.
 
From 3 January 2017, Culinary Director Mike Wehrle will be responsible for gastronomic delights in the twelve restaurants. A Swiss certified chef and production manager, he has many years’ international experience in top-notch gastronomy and hotels. For instance, he worked as chef for the Victoria Jungfrau Grand Hotel & Spa and for the Peninsula Group in Bangkok, Chicago and Manila.
