Open for less than one year, Six Senses Hideaway Yao Noi has already chalked up an impressive list of awards. To this, is now added the 2008 Wild Asia Responsible Tourism Award for Luxury and Boutique Resorts.

Wild Asia awards differ from many awards insomuch as the judges visit all finalist properties and professionally evaluate the operation with the award criteria. These include:

sense of place - enriching the visitor's understanding of the destination.

sustainability – ongoing initiatives for the long term.
involvement of guests - guest involvement in this sustainability journey.

internalisation - how well sustainability efforts are structured into day-to-day operations

reach – sharing of the ideas and practices across the destination or industry.

Wild Asia is a social enterprise working to support the conservation of natural areas and the communities dependent upon their resources. It works primarily by forging partnerships with individuals and businesses that are socially and environmentally responsible. The ultimate goal of Wild Asia is to promote sustainable practices that will minimise adverse impacts on the environment, ensure that local communities are engaged and that local cultures are respected.

Other awards that Six Senses Hideaway Yao Noi has been honoured with in 2008 are inclusion in Forbes Traveler.com The World’s 50 Best New Hotels, Travel + Leisure – Southeast Asia The IT List, Elite Traveler 101 Top Hotel Suites of the Year, and Travel + Leisure – US The IT List

Condé Nast Traveller UK placed the resort in the Hot List Hotels, with its sister US publication recognizing the resort’s Six Senses Spa in the Hot List Spas. The Sydney Morning Herald included Six Senses Hideaway Yao Noi as one of the year’s Hottest Island Destinations.
