Salamander Resort & Spa, slated to open in spring 2010 in the scenic foothills of Virginia’s Blue Ridge Mountains, has joined Associated Luxury Hotels International (ALHI) as its newest member. ALHI will provide national sales services for the luxurious resort to corporations, associations, independent planners, and incentive specialists wishing to conduct meetings, incentive programs, conventions, and exhibitions at the new resort.

“Salamander Resort & Spa will be an extremely elegant new option for groups,” said David Gabri, president and CEO of Associated Luxury Hotels. “This is a special resort with excellent meeting space that is in a truly unique meeting venue close to Washington, DC, featuring an incredible setting, fabulous new spa, and truly first-class facilities.”

Salamander Resort & Spa becomes ALHI’s fourth member in Virginia, joining such prestigious members as The Homestead in Hot Springs, Lansdowne Resort, and The Resort Collection of Colonial Williamsburg.

Set on 340 acres in the foothills of the picturesque Blue Ridge Mountains amid Virginia’s famed horse country and lush vineyards, the luxurious Salamander Resort & Spa will feature 168 elegant and large guestrooms, a 23,000-square-foot spa, and a full-service equestrian center. Located in Middleburg, Virginia, just 30 minutes from Washington’s Dulles International Airport, the resort will boast 13 meeting rooms with a total of 12,000 square feet of meeting space. Unique and picturesque indoor and outdoor function space will include the 200-year-old Stallion Barn, the Grand Lawn, the Terrace Lawn at the Pond, an Herb Garden, a private Wine Room, a state-of-the-art Cooking Studio, and a Hospitality Suite. Groups will have the opportunity to visit more than 22 nearby vineyards, and enjoy miles of hiking and biking trails.

With a diverse luxury portfolio of more than 88,000 rooms and suites and 9.2 million square feet of meeting space, ALHI serves as a dedicated dues-based National Sales organization that enables planners to gain reliable one-call access to its outstanding member hotels and resorts that specialize in meetings and incentive programs requiring from 10 to more than 5,000 rooms.

Member properties include extraordinary meeting and incentive resorts, incomparable city hotels, exclusive smaller hotels, golf resorts, historic and landmark properties, island destinations, resorts with spas, properties in international destinations, and hotels with gaming and entertainment.
