To help resolution-makers maintain their resolve, the Novotel hotel group has introduced a range of new initiatives to address the five most popular new year’s resolutions for 2009

New Year’s resolutions may have been made in good faith a few weeks ago, but are about to hit crunch time according to a recent survey that suggested some 38% of resolutions would be broken by the start of February.

To help resolution makers maintain their resolve, the Novotel hotel group has introduced a range of new initiatives to address the five most popular new year’s resolutions for 2009, which were to: save more/spend less; to exercise more/lose weight; to eat more healthily; to spend more time with family and friends; and to relax/have more ‘me’ time.

1) Spend Less – from 16 January to 2 April, when you stay two nights (Friday and Saturday) at any Novotel in Australia you will receive free breakfast for two adults each day, plus a free $20 iTunes card, representing a saving of at least $100 per booking.

2) Exercise More – Novotel hotels are introducing an InBalance Menu which highlights jogging/walking tracks close by, provides access to personal trainers, and offers the latest fitness equipment to make your exercise regime easy.

3) Eat Healthily – Novotel hotels now offer Healthy Choice Meals with a variety of nutritious, low-fat and low-GI options clearly highlighted on their menus, as well as Fresh Start Breakfasts that include a full range of organic foods, freshly squeezed juices and more.

4) Spend More Time with Family – the new Novotel&Family initiative allows families to get away for weekends and enjoy quality time together – without breaking the bank. The Novotel&Family policy means up to two children aged 16 years and under stay free of charge and enjoy complimentary buffet breakfast any day of the week. Plus there’s a play area, a welcome gift for the children and a free Nickelodeon children’s channel. There’s also a late check-out time of 5pm on Sundays so you can enjoy a whole weekend together for the price of just one night.

5) Relax More/Enjoy More ‘Me’ Time – Novotel hotels offer a free in-room yoga channel with a complimentary yoga mat so you can take some time out to relax and rejuvenate in complete privacy. They also offer a full range of in-room massage and pamper sessions from Rejuvenators so it’s easy to find some quality ‘me’ time without even leaving your room.

The most popular reasons given for breaking resolutions was that it was too hard to find time or that people were too busy with work. A Novotel escape – priced from as little as $119 per night – neatly delivers an excuse-free start to the year that will leave you feeling better about your health, your fitness and your family. And because the key to keeping resolutions is to reward yourself along the way, a Novotel break might be a highly effective way of helping you keep your resolutions throughout the year.

There are 22 Novotel hotels and resorts across Australia in every mainland State and Territory capital city, as well as regional areas and resort destinations.
