This is a press release selected by our editorial committee and published online for free on 2009-09-03

Naïade Boutique cares about sustainable development. Thus, as from October, customers will find a collection of environmentally-friendly clothes, made from bamboo and organic cotton. This collection will mainly include polo shirts and t-shirts. The price tags will also be printed on recycled paper.

“This green initiative is very important to us,” says Sonia Planel, director of Naïade Boutique. “We are pleased to have had the support of management. We are part of a global trend. The bamboo textile is popular with customers who care about sustainable development. It comes from a natural renewable source which grows quickly without the need of many chemicals. Bamboo mixed with organic cotton produce textiles which are hypoallergenic and soft. In organic cotton fields, smaller quantities of chemical fertilizers and water are used. Sonia Planel explains her goal: “We want to be first in the hotel shops to go green. The survival of our small island depends on this type of initiatives.”

In the next edition, we will unveil this new collection that respects the environment.
