─ In anticipation of a grand opening next April, group bookings now are being accepted by the Dolce Munich Unterschleissheim, a 255-room hotel under construction near Munich, Germany, adjacent to the Dolce BallhausForum conference center, also managed by Dolce Hotels and Resorts.

The hotel will offer nearly 18,000 square feet of function space certified by the International Association of Conference Centers to complement the Dolce BallhausForum’s nearly 33,000 square feet of function space. It will be one of only three four-star hotels to open in the Munich market in 2010 and 2011, according to lodging consultants Christie + Co.

Group facilities will include a 3,520 square-foot divisible conference room, 2,745-square-foot ballroom, 2,700-square-foot conference room, a divisible 2,600-square foot room, two 861-square-foot rooms, eight 250-square foot breakout rooms and three executive lounges on separate floors.

Guest rooms will feature upgraded bedding and linens, oversize baths, flat-screen LCD TVs, work desks and complementary wireless Internet access. Three presidential suites will be available on the executive-level seventh floor along with 12 junior suites, 15 connecting deluxe rooms and 915-square-foot Sky Lounge. Ten additional junior suites will be available on other floors.

Food and beverage facilities will include a fine-dining restaurant, lobby bar and the restaurant where conference and other guests may dine buffet-style in an indoor garden. The food and beverage staff will be trained at Dolce’s Culinary Academy, led by Alain Montigny, a Guide MICHELIN® 2009-star chef from Dolce Chantilly near Paris, who is helping to develop seasonal menus, recruit a certified sommelier and develop signature Dolce Sweet desserts, including Bavarian specialties.

The hotel’s Dolce Vital Spa will include an indoor pool, fitness center, sauna and private treatment rooms where the latest techniques will be blended with ancient therapies.
More than 260 parking spaces will be available at the hotel.
Special group packages now are being offered to conference customers. To request a proposal, meeting planners may contact Thorsten Kahl, Dolce Munich-Unterschleissheim director of sales and marketing, at thorsten.kahl@dolce.com or by calling him at +49 89 37 05 30 478. Additional information is available at www.dolcemunich.com.
Paul Van Wijk, Dolce Munich-Unterschleissheim managing director, said the hotel will enjoy the competitive advantage of being developed next to the “one-of-a-kind Dolce BallhausForum.”

Steven A. Rudnitsky, Dolce Hotels and Resorts president and chief executive officer, said the Dolce Munich will be the first Dolce-operated hotel designed and built from the ground up to the company’s conference and resort standards. “This hotel fulfills our vision for a world-class conference complex with state-of-the-art technology and unrivaled service,” he said.

The Dolce Munich-Unterschleissheim and Dolce BallhausForum are located between Munich International Airport and Munich city center. The Dolce Munich-Unterschleissheim will be the second Dolce hotel in Germany, joining the Dolce Bad Nauheim near Frankfurt, and sixth in Europe.
