Ultra-luxury Silversea Cruises has awarded a student of the Silversea Academy, its online training site with the grand prize of a complimentary cruise for two. This yearly win is chosen to show Silversea’s appreciation for the support of the trade and to encourage new agents to learn about the Silversea product.
The lucky winner, who was picked at random, is Kerry Robson of travel agency Dawson & Sanderon. On Tuesday 23 November, a delighted Kerry received an early Christmas present from Silversea’s Area Sales Manager, David Smith who arrived at the agency complete in a Santa outfit to surprise Kerry with the good news.
Since its launch in May 2008, the site has attracted great attention with over 2,000 travel agent users. The programme now features nine separate training modules covering all areas of the product and up-to-date imagery. Every section gives detailed information about each topic followed by a series of multiple-choice questions to finish. Given the in-depth information featured, it is envisaged most agents will take around an hour to complete the course. Following successful completion, they will be sent a special certificate, which can be displayed at their point of sale.
The benefits of this programme go beyond product knowledge, as every student taking the course is eligible for a monthly prize and entry to a draw for the yearly complimentary cruise. Additionally, students who make and register bookings within two months of completing the course are entered in a draw for another reward such as a digital camera.
The site has been recently updated with the latest news and product developments, and also features a forum section for agents to give feedback and ask questions from the experts at Silversea.
