DoubleTree by Hilton today announced the opening of a newly renovated hotel just 15 minutes from South Carolina’s Charleston International Airport. The 149-room DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel & Suites Charleston Airport, formerly an exterior-corridor property, has been completely transformed into an upscale, full-service interior corridor hotel owned and operated by Homecourt Hospitality N. Charleston LLC under a franchise license agreement with a subsidiary of Hilton Worldwide.

The comprehensive, year-long renovation included all guest rooms and all public areas. The new contemporary accommodations are distinctly appointed with design cues hailed from both past and present decades with a subtle nod to Charleston’s heritage as prominent aeronautics center and home to a Boeing plant and Charleston Air Force base. Central to the hotel’s aeronautic theme is the new restaurant, Two Wrights, named for the pioneering Wright brothers.

“We couldn’t be more proud to be the third DoubleTree branded hotel in South Carolina,” said Josh Williams, who along with partner Joe Ross, developed the hotel. “We’ve watched the DoubleTree brand continue to gain market share over the last few years and appreciate the uniqueness the brand offers to owners. We extend our heartfelt thanks to the multitude of people who have worked extremely hard to bring this vision to reality.”

“Just last year, Conde Nast Traveler's readers named Charleston the number one city in the U.S. and Travel + Leisure named it the #2 city in the US and Canada,” noted John Greenleaf, global head of DoubleTree by Hilton. “Cities that earn that kind of distinction attract discerning travelers who will visit Charleston for its unique historic and cultural attractions as well as its thriving business community. Whether they are just discovering Charleston, or they visit frequently, those guests are sure to appreciate having a second, essentially brand new, DoubleTree by Hilton hotel so conveniently located to the city’s airport.”

DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel & Suites Charleston Airport is located near the Palmetto Commerce Parkway, Boeing and the Charleston Air Force Base with easy access to the city center, historic downtown district and main attractions including Boone Hall Plantation, Patriots Point Naval & Maritime Museum, South Carolina Aquarium and Gibbes Museum of Art.

Guests of the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel & Suites Charleston Airport join more than

The tastefully appointed rooms and suites at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel & Suites Charleston Airport feature the Sweet Dreams® by DoubleTree sleep experience beds; Wolfgang Puck, in-room, gourmet coffee and tea service; and CITRON by Crabtree & Evelyn bath and body products. Each room has a 42-inch, high-definition, LED TV; MP3-compatible alarm clock and in-room laptop safe. Complimentary wireless high-speed internet access is available throughout the hotel with remote guest room printing.

The DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel & Suites Charleston offers around-the-clock amenities, including a complimentary 24-hour airport shuttle, business center and fitness center. The hotel features more than 5,000 square feet of flexible meeting space, and when the work is done, guests can relax poolside or enjoy the landscaped courtyard with fire pit.

The hotel’s Two Wrights lobby bar and restaurant pay tribute to several local favorite dishes including shrimp and grits, buttermilk fried oysters and buffalo shrimp tacos. The restaurant serves the brand’s signature Wake Up DoubleTree breakfast, which includes hot entrees and healthy options to start the day right. At the end of a busy day, guests can unwind with a fine selection of refreshing cocktails in the lounge. In-room dining is available from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m.

The DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel & Suites Charleston Airport is located at 7401 Northwoods Blvd., North Charleston, South Carolina, 29406.
