InterContinental Hotels & Resorts is living up to its legacy as the first truly international luxury hotel brand in the world, simultaneously unveiling InterContinental London Park Lane and InterContinental Boston this November. As the newest flagship properties in the brand’s collection, both hotels boast perhaps the best locations in their respective cities, offering services and amenities specifically designed for the international business and leisure traveller. The new additions will maintain a delicate balance of luxury offerings and authentic “in the know” experiences that InterContinental is known for.

InterContinental London Park Lane

Reopening 6 November after £60 million in renovations, the newly renamed InterContinental London Park Lane will provide guests with a truly authentic and luxurious London experience, from the hotel’s preeminent address at Number One Park Lane to the unparalleled service and state-of-the-art facilities.

Situated adjacent to London’s famed Buckingham Palace, Hyde and Green Parks, InterContinental London Park Lane will feature 387 guestrooms, 60 spacious designer suites, and one stunning split-level ‘London’ suite; a 188 square-metre chic urban spa, with five treatment rooms including one discreet VIP room, two private spa suites; an entire floor of contemporary meeting space, complete with floor-to-ceiling windows; a dynamic mood-changing lobby bar; and breathtaking views over London’s historic skyline.

Several culinary enhancements are helping to transform this hotel into one of London’s finest five-star properties, including the addition of an independent Italian destination restaurant, Theo Randall at The InterContinental, led by one of Britain’s most talented young chefs, Theo Randall. In addition, the hotel’s complementary restaurant, The Cookbook Cafe, will feature an innovative academy where up and coming chefs will be invited to showcase their talents, offering hotel guests and London residents cookery classes and a culinary art gallery of cookbooks.

InterContinental Boston

Scheduled to open on 3 November, the £168 million InterContinental Boston will make history as the brand’s first-ever hotel in Boston. Perfectly situated in the heart of one of the city’s most exciting neighbourhoods, InterContinental Boston will be a premiere destination and will re-define Boston’s historic waterfront.

Located on the site of the Boston Tea Party, at the base of the Financial District, and within walking distance of a multitude of attractions such as the North End, Faneuil Hall/Quincy Market and New England Aquarium, InterContinental Boston will be comprised of a luxury hotel, exclusive private residences and breathtaking waterfront gardens. The property will feature 424 luxurious guestrooms and suites, boasting stunning harbour and city skyline views; 2,975 square-metres of meeting and private event space with high-tech amenities; a 24 hour business centre; a 615 square-metre full service spa and a 24 hour state-of-the-art health club with indoor pool and steam room.

InterContinental Boston will also be home to three very distinctive and internationally themed beverage and dining concepts, including Boston’s first full-service, 24-hour restaurant. The Provencal themed signature eatery, Miel, which will also be the city’s first authentic brasserie, will be joined by Rumba, a rum and private champagne bar celebrating New England’s rich history with the rum trade, as well as SUSHI-TEQ, a high energy bar that will introduce an unusual cultural fusion, pairing sushi with vintage tequilas from around the world.

In addition to these two new properties, the brand announced today plans to open its first property in Scottsdale, Arizona, USA. Nestled at the foot of Camelback Mountain on the highly-acclaimed Resort Row, the £133 million InterContinental Montelucia Resort & Spa in Paradise Valley, AZ is projected to debut in early 2008. The property is owned and being developed by Crown Realty & Development Corporation and operated by IHG’s Americas’ operations division, The Hotel Management Group.
