Lance, who is only 21, landed his first front office job at Burj Al Arab butlers’ team seven months ago. His impressive knowledge of the hotel combined with extremely professional approach and ‘can-do’ attitude were the reasons why he was selected to represent the hotel in 2014.

During the rigorous three-round process, Lance beat some steep competition including 35 candidates from the best hotels in Dubai. He successfully completed all challenges and impressed the judges with his genuine personality and thinking outside the box.

Ahmed Ereiba, Executive Assistant Rooms Division, said: “We are extremely proud to have Lance as one of our colleagues. Despite his young age, he shows a high level of maturity whenever faced with a challenging situation. He truly represents Jumeirah Group’s hallmarks and is a great asset for Burj Al Arab."

This is the fourth time that Burj Al Arab’s colleagues have won the AICR trophy. Back in 2009 Tatiana Lomteva, Assistant Front Office Manager, won the Receptionist of the Year award, followed by Olga Velceva, who earned the title International Receptionist of the Year in 2011 and Rodolfo Rivera III who won the Receptionist of the Year in 2012.

Lance will now represent Dubai at the international level of the competition taking place in Singapore in January 2015.
