Hoteles Hesperia has just inaugurated the Hesperia Bilbao**** hotel, the Group’s second establishment in the Vizcayan capital. The hotel, which is located in the street called Campo Volantín 28, opposite the Ría (river inlet) and only a few paces from the Guggenheim Museum, comprises 151 rooms, 9 meeting rooms with natural light, its own car-park with 60 parking spaces and Wi-Free (free wireless Internet connection).
This newly-built establishment is the Group’s second hotel in Bilbao, after having inaugurated Hotel Hesperia Zubialde**** in the year 2000. Moreover, the chain has also recently inaugurated the Hesperia Donosti**** in the Basque Country.
The unusual and original façade is the work of Iñaki Aurrekoetxea, one of the most renowned architects in the Basque Country. Featuring amongst his numerous projects, together with Javier Mariscal, is the work and design of the Gran Hotel Domine Bilbao as well as the current construction of the famous Uribitarte Towers, designed by the Japanese architect, Irata Isozaki.
The interior design was carried out by GCA Arquitectes Associats, a studio specialised in the interior design of hotels which is already working with the chain on the interior design of the Hesperia Tower***** hotel. This five-star establishment which the chain will inaugurate in Barcelona in January 2006, will incorporate a restaurant of chef Santi Santamaria, housed in the distinctive glass dome which crowns the building.

At the present time, the Hesperia chain has 42 hotels in Spain, 2 in Brussels (Bélgica), 1 in London, 1 in Andorra y 2 in Margarita Island (Venezuela), making a total of 48 establishments and 7,200 rooms. In addition, it projects opening another 2 hotels situated in different Spanish capital cities. Last year, the Company had a turnover of 171 M€ with a forecast of 200 M € for the year 2005.
