Renee Newbold began work as the MICE market business development executive for Shangri-La Hotel, The Marina, Cairns in January 2008.
Renee previously worked at the Cairns Colonial Club Resort in various roles including conference centre operations manager and sales executive. From Western Australia, Renee has called Cairns home for the last five years. Before settling in Cairns, Renee worked on Rottnest Island, in Broome and in the Margaret River wine region while travelling the Western Australia coast.
“Renee brings with her an extensive knowledge of the local area and the conference and incentives market,” said Brad Crump, the hotel’s director of sales and marketing. Renee is the perfect complement to the sales and marketing team, with Troy Dowd, the MICE market business development manager for Shangri-La’s Cairns and Sydney properties based at Shangri-La Hotel, Sydney and Renee for the Cairns property on the ground in Cairns.
