Eric Hallin has been appointed as general manager of the Six Senses Latitude Jafre, which is currently under development in Catalonia, 90-minutes north of Barcelona, Spain. The resort will launch the group’s new Latitude brand and will be the first Six Senses property in Europe.
Eric has taken up this role after more than three years as general manager of the Six Senses Hideaway Samui, which was also the property that launched the group’s Hideaway brand. Under his stewardship the resort received many awards including being placed on the Conde Nast Traveller Hot List in its first year of operation. The Tatler Travel Guide included it in the 101 Best Hotels whilst Luxury Travel & Style placed it in the 100 Most Exotic Beach Resorts. It was recently Green Globe Benchmarked.
As a seasoned hotelier, Eric brings almost 35 years of hospitality and travel experience to Six Senses Latitude Jafre, with 22 years since his first general manger role. His tenures have been located in several prime tourism locations in Thailand and the Maldives. His initial role in Thailand began in the travel industry in the late-1970’s, with Jambo Tours and Vikings Tour. Four years later he made the crossover to the hospitality sector by becoming director of marketing for a leading Bangkok hotel.
Eric grew up in Sweden, Africa and Greece, and attended Granna College at the University of Stockholm. He later studied at Cornell University, University of Hawaii and Dusit College, and has received several diplomas in Hotel Management. In addition to his native Swedish, Eric is fluent in English, French and Thai languages.
