Anand Rao has been appointed as chief talent officer for Six Senses Resorts & Spas. Reporting directly to Six Senses’ chief operating officer, he is responsible for overseeing the group’s human resources and training strategy to support the expanding portfolio of resorts managed under the brand names Soneva, Six Senses Hideaways, Six Senses Latitudes and Evason, plus Six Senses Spas and Six Senses Destination Spas.
Prior to joining Six Senses, he was with The Ritz-Carlton since February 1995 where he held the positions of corporate director, organizational development; and vice president, recruitment and selection.
Anand graduated from the Lausanne Hotel School (Ecole Hôtelière de Lausanne). His experience in the hospitality industry, working with various international hospitality companies including The Ritz-Carlton, EuroDisney, Hilton International and Sarova Hotels spans over 30 years in many countries including Switzerland, Kenya, Kuwait, Sudan, France, the UK and the USA. Anand began his career as a trainee and worked his way up through the ranks and held positions as restaurant manager, director of food & beverage, food & beverage analyst, director of training, and director of human resources, followed by a variety of corporate human resources positions.
Originally from India, Anand holds a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) Degree from Delhi University in English, as well as an Advanced Diploma in Hotel Management from the world-renowned, Lausanne Hotel School in Switzerland. He is fluent in French and several Indian languages and, as a result of his travels and work experience, is able to converse in a number of other languages.
