Keith Allardice has been appointed General Manager of the new Conrad Tokyo, the luxurious 296-room property located in the heart of Tokyo's Shiodome precinct. The hotel opened on 1st July 2005.

Joining from the Conrad London where he was General Manager for four years, Allardice has 26 years of experience in the hotel industry, including 12 years with Conrad Hotels.

Keith Allardice is already familiar with luxury hotel management in Asia-Pacific. An Australian national, he started his career in his home country and moved to the US for two years. He returned to Asia-Pacific in 1986 to start his management career. There he held various hotel sales and marketing positions in Australia, China and New Zealand with other prestigious hotel groups in major cities, before joining Conrad. Keith Allardice was first appointed by Conrad Hotels in 1993, joining the Conrad Hong Kong as Director of Marketing. In 1996, he was promoted to Regional Director of Marketing Asia and became Resident Manager of the Conrad Hong Kong in 1999.

In this new role in Tokyo, Keith Allardice will report to Paul Harvey, Hilton International Vice-President Japan and Micronesia.

Clem Barter, President of Conrad Hotels commented: "Conrad Hotels is delighted to welcome Keith in this new function. His experience and career with the company is a great asset to ensure the successful management and business development of our Conrad property in Japan, after the highly publicised opening of the hotel by his predecessor, Jan Monkedieck. The Conrad Tokyo has been developed to the highest standards and is a great success in the city".

A true marketeer and hotelier, Keith Allardice was, during his time at the Conrad Hong Kong, a guest lecturer for an MBA marketing course at the Chinese University of Hong Kong. He has also a keen interest in photography and travel.

Keith and his wife will move to Tokyo in the course of December 2005.
