RENOVATION PLANS UNVEILED AT SILVER JUBILEE EVENT

A glamorous ceremony marked the 25th anniversary of the renowned Radisson SAS property in Kuwait City, part of the fast growing hospitality company, Rezidor SAS Hospitality. Major renovation plans scheduled to begin by the second quarter of 2006, were unveiled at the event by Deputy President and CFO Rezidor SAS, Knut Kleiven and Vice President Middle East, Jean-Marc Busato. Radisson SAS, Kuwait was the first hotel to open outside Scandinavia, where Rezidor SAS has its roots, being a 75% fully owned subsidiary of SAS Airlines.
“We have never looked back since. Our strong relationship based on trust and support with the owners - the Marafie family – has been the foundation for the success of this hotel and our growth in the Middle East,” said Busato.
“In order to keep pace with demand, we are embarking on an expansion plan and total renovation of the rooms, public areas and facilities,” Busato adds.
The 200-room hotel is famous for the world’s largest wooden dhow, the Al-Hashemi II, a replica of the old Kuwaiti traditional boat, a total of 2200 square meters of banquet facilities with a beautiful open deck for cocktail parties.
