New-build branded boutique hotel is brand's sixth opening in 2008

IHG (InterContinental Hotels Group) [LON: IHG, NYSE:IHG (ADRs)], one of the world's largest hotel groups by number of rooms, today announces the opening of the Hotel Indigo Skyview Rahway. The 100-room new-build property is the first Hotel Indigo to open in New Jersey and the 17th overall for the brand.

The Hotel Indigo is located directly across from the Rahway Train Station in the heart of the downtown area and arts district. The hotel is part of a mixed use luxury condominium and retail development, which provides guests with convenient access to a variety of unique high-end retail shops and fine dining restaurants within this vibrant downtown complex. Opening soon is a dry cleaner and Cuppy's Coffee Café. Guests will be approximately 30 minutes non-stop direct to New York City and 10 minutes to Newark Airport via New Jersey Transit. The hotel provides convenient access to the Union County Performing Arts Center, several universities and corporations including Merck, Goldman Sachs and L'Oreal.

"We're excited to bring the first Hotel Indigo to New Jersey," said Jim Anhut, senior vice president, Franchise Development, the Americas, IHG. "We know our guests will enjoy the urban oasis provided by this hotel, whether they're visiting one of the nearby businesses and universities or returning from an adventure-filled day in Manhattan."

Guestrooms at the Hotel Indigo Skyview Rahway provide a sun-drenched sanctuary of calm relaxation. Each room boasts an individualized style, intended to envelop the guest with a sense of cool comfort to truly make the room a respite from the busy world of travel. The vibrant colors utilized in each room have been specifically chosen to rejuvenate the senses, from the earth washed furniture to the nature-inspired hues of the walls and bedding.

"I've wanted to bring a hotel like this to Rahway for some time, and I'm proud that we've opened the doors of the Hotel Indigo," said Carlos Silva, owner, Carriage City Hospitality, LLC. "We're looking forward to offering our guests a unique and inviting experience that they won't find anywhere else in the area."

The Hotel Indigo features signature design elements including oversized lobby chairs, which create a personal work or dining space within the public areas of the hotel; cozy, airy and inviting guestrooms with plush bedding, hardwood-style flooring and spa-inspired showers; and a Phitness studio with cardio equipment and free weights. The hotel also offers Phi, an on-site casual gourmet restaurant; a full-service spa coming this fall; a 24-hour business center; two meeting rooms for business functions or special events; and wireless high-speed Internet access throughout the hotel.

Boutique hotels, known for their intimate, luxurious environments in addition to personalized accommodations and services, have gained increasing popularity throughout North America. Hotel Indigo is known as the industry's first branded boutique hotel, artfully combining the conveniences and consistencies of a brand hotel with the design cache and service personality of a boutique at an attractive price. The soul of the brand's retail-inspired concept is renewal - thoughtful changes that are made throughout the year to keep the hotel fresh, similar to the way retailers change their window displays. The renewal concept provides even the most frequent guest a unique experience with every stay. The hotel features renewable elements such as vivid nature-inspired murals, area rugs, plush duvets and slip covers that will change periodically. Public spaces will be transformed seasonally through changing artwork, music, flora and murals.

The Hotel Indigo is owned by Carriage City Hospitality, LLC, and managed by IHG's Americas operations division, The Hotel Management Group, under a long term management contract, made effective on January 4, 2007.
