Hyatt Hotels & Resorts has announced that it will manage a luxury resort on Portugal's spectacular Alentejo coast for Pelicano Investimento Imobiliario SA. Called Pinheirinho, a Hyatt Golf and Beach Resort, and located just an hour from Lisbon, Pinheirinho will feature a five-star luxury hotel, Park Hyatt Alem-Tejo, as well as luxury villas, apartments and residences for sale and rental that will range in size from one-bedroom to three-bedroom units.
Featuring architecture that reinterprets Portuguese tradition, the development will blend harmoniously with the natural environment. Interiors will be designed by renowned London studio, United Designers, to create an atmosphere of contemporary luxury. Along with many amenities, Pinheirinho will feature a 27-hole championship golf course designed by golf architects Jorge Santana Da Silva and Cabell Robinson.

Located within the Pinheirinho resort, Park Hyatt Alem-Tejo will offer 160 rooms with modern architectural design, rich residential interiors, a signature restaurant by the pool, and a lounge and cigar bar - all designed to appeal to hotel guests and the residents of the resort. The hotel will also feature the residence, a meeting room concept developed by Hyatt that provides meeting planners and attendees with a variety of elegant atmospheres - lounges, boardrooms, open kitchens - to conduct Pinheirinho, A Hyatt Golf and Beach Resort, and Park Hyatt Alem-Tejo meetings and stimulate conversation. A Hyatt Pure spa and beach club exclusively for Park Hyatt guests will also be a part of the hotel's offerings.

The beachfront of Pinheirinho will feature a beach club, a restaurant, and various water sports. Additional amenities and activities planned include soccer, tennis, rugby, beach volleyball, horseback riding and a fully-equipped fitness center.
There will be a second Hyatt Pure spa within the resort for all guests of Pinheirinho including those travelers staying at Park Hyatt Alem-Tejo. This spa's concept will be faithful to the true definition of spa "sanitas per aquas" offering treatments and services that incorporate the principles of hydration of the body for the promotion of wellness and renewal.
The resort will feature a conference center equipped to accommodate events for private or business functions as well as a Village Center comprising a gourmet market and various entertainment facilities.
"We have chosen Hyatt Hotels & Resorts to manage the resort due to its position as a globally recognized leader in hospitality and its extensive experience with multi-function resorts," said Joaquim Mendes Duarte, chairman of the board of Pelicano Group. "Hyatt resorts around the world are recognized for their ability to create an authentic sense of place in every facet of the property from luxurious spas to world-class golf courses that blend perfectly into the local landscape."
"Portugal is one of the world's most popular holiday destinations with a sense of authentic hospitality thanks to the warm spirit of the Portuguese people," said Gebhard Rainer, managing director - Europe, Africa and the Middle East, Hyatt Hotels & Resorts. "We are particularly proud to be associated with Pelicano Group in this idyllic setting surrounded by golden beaches, forests and mountains."
"Thanks to the careful planning and cooperation of the region's various stakeholders, we believe that the limited development in the area will be a positive part of making Pinheirinho an exceptional destination," said Oliver Berger, vice president development & acquisitions - Europe, Africa and Middle East, Hyatt Hotels & Resorts.
