Shangri-La Hotel, Tokyo, the first Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts property in Japan, offers “Discover Shangri-La”, a special stay package in celebration of its opening on 2 March 2009. Until 12 April 2009, guests can experience Shangri-La’s legendary hospitality in a Deluxe room at JPY110,000 per night (service charge excluded), including breakfast and an opening commemorative gift, single or double occupancy, subject to availability.

Robbe & Berking, one of the worlds’ leading and most exclusive silver manufacturers, created the premium, commemorative gift, which is not on sale commercially in Japan. Each item carries a serial number and is limited to the first 200 packages sold. Items are limited to one per guest with a maximum of two gifts per room.

“Shangri-La Hotel, Tokyo selected this particular, limited edition gift after careful review of a number of exclusive gifts from around the world, based on the noble traditions of Robbe & Berking, which for generations have hand crafted silver for royal families and celebrities around the world since being founded in 1874. I am convinced that the item, which is original and pays homage to the essence of luxury while portraying distinct, Japanese undertones, will please every guest who receives one,” said Wolfgang Krueger, general manager of Shangri-La Hotel, Tokyo.

The 202-room Shangri-La Hotel, Tokyo will be located adjacent to Tokyo Station, the capital’s only station with railway connections to all points in Japan. The hotel will occupy the top 11 floors of the 37-floor mixed-use Marunouchi Trust Tower Main.

Shangri-La Hotel, Tokyo’s dining facilities will include Piacere, a signature Italian restaurant; Nadaman, which serves authentic Japanese kaiseki cuisine; and The Lobby Lounge. CHI, The Spa at Shangri-La, featuring ancient Chinese and Himalayan healing therapies, will also open in Japan for the first time. The spa will offer six treatment rooms, which will be the largest self-contained spa suites in Tokyo.

Within walking distance of the hotel lie Tokyo’s renowned shopping district of Ginza, the Imperial Palace and its gardens, the redeveloped business and retail zone of Marunouchi and Tokyo’s historical and cultural epicentre of Nihonbashi.
