On February 26th, 2009, the Institut Paul Bocuse organized the third board of directors meeting to reunite the representatives of the Worldwide Alliance. This was also an occasion to officially welcome three new partner schools from Colombia, Chili and Mexico who have recently joined the Alliance which is already comprised of schools from Brazil, Canada, the United States, Finland, Greece, Japan, Peru, Singapore and Taiwan.
Established in 2004, the Institut Paul Bocuse Worldwide Alliance is an international network that today consists of 12 schools coming from the 4 corners of the globe. Together they will promote the French gastronomic savoir-faire and enhance the value of their culturally diverse heritages. These are just a few examples of the major challenges that will be taken up by this original and unique educational initiative in which each partner school interacts with the totality of the network.
From next May to September, for the 5th consecutive year, the Institut Paul Bocuse Worldwide Alliance will welcome 30 students who have been selected from among the best of each member school to participate in an exclusive training program. The objective of this program is to improve French culinary techniques, to immerse the students in French culture while working in an international environment and lastly, to share the culinary cultures of the 12 country members.
Annual exchanges between teachers and chefs are equally important elements of the Institut Paul Bocuse Worldwide Alliance; an Alliance which is currently enjoying great success and a widening network of members.
