Swiss-Belhotel Resort Masirah Island appoints General Manager (Oman)

Swiss-Belhotel International has announced the appointment of Jose Martin Coelho as the pre-opening General Manager of their second property in Oman, Swiss-Belhotel Resort Masirah Island.
Indian-born, Jose Martin Coelho brings close to 40 years of experience in the hospitality industry to the team. His career grew from a hotel traineeship and food and beverage roles to his posting as a General Manager in 1985 with a hotel in Oman. Initial career growth for him was in India and then he mastered the Middle East market with most of his experience in Saudi Arabia and Oman. Prior to joining Swiss-Belhotel International he was General Manager of the Al Wadi Hotel, Sohar and Ruwi Hotel, Ruwi in Sultanate of Oman.
"The forte of Jose is his vast knowledge of the Omani market which will be of utmost importance for opening the first 4 star hotel at an Island 6 hours from Muscat. He also possesses strong leadership qualities which will help in creating, developing and motivating a new team of staff from varying countries."said Edgar Solenthaler, Vice President Operations & Development, Swiss-Belhotel International Middle East.
"His role in joining us in the pre-opening phase will be very critical as by mid March the property will have its soft opening. He has to achieve on a very tight programme in the given time span, but we absolutely believe in his capabilities", Mr. Solenthaler concluded.
Swiss-Belhotel International manages hotels and projects in China, Vietnam, Philippines, Malaysia, Indonesia, Australia, United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Jordan, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Yemen and Oman. The Group also has a Middle East development office located in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
