Preferred Boutique, the premier brand for intimate hotels and resorts, is pleased to announce its first member in Western Australia - The Richardson Hotel & Spa in Perth. At the heart of the Preferred Boutique experience is inspiration, that elusive characteristic that sifts the extraordinary from the ordinary. The four Preferred Boutique categories - Classic, Design, Adventure and Resort - encompass eclectic properties from palaces to tent camps, from hip urban hotels to private islands. The Richardson is part of the Design category.

Designed by London architect, Sir Terry Farrell, The Richardson is centrally located in West Perth, within walking distance of the business district, Perth Convention Centre, stylish Subiaco, and King's Park Botanical Gardens. Voted The Best Luxury Hotel in Australia (under 100 rooms) in The Australian Travel & Tourism Awards 2008, the 74 guestrooms and suites provide wonderful views of Perth city and surrounding gardens. Rich textured contemporary decor creates a stylish interior with a strong sense of mood, luxury, and intimacy. The plush room furnishings blend rich golden colours with beiges and beech wood. Most offer balconies. Each guestroom features an LCD television, CD and DVD players, broadband Internet, Nespresso coffee machine, and a pillow menu with six choices.
One whole floor is dedicated to The Spa which houses Australia's first ESPA, offering luxurious treatments and products in serene surroundings. Recognised for its service and excellent wellness programs, The Spa at The Richardson was awarded winner of Conde Nast Traveller UK 2009 Readers Spa Awards, for Favourite Overseas Hotel Spa, Australasia and South Pacific. Leisure facilities also include an indoor heated pool, with access to an outdoor garden and sun lounges, and a gym. There are two restaurants and a cocktail bar, including one of Perth's premier fine dining venues, Opus.
