Marriott is treating accredited third-party meeting professionals who complete the new Meetings Excellence! (ME!) training program to a $50USD gift card that can be used for Dinner on Us (or anything else these group intermediaries want to do for a little “ME!” time).
To receive the gift card, accredited group meeting professionals must complete the training between July 1, 2009 and September 30, 2009. Only newly certified graduates who take the training during the promotional period are eligible. For more information, group intermediaries can go to www.marriott.com/grouppartners.
Meetings Excellence!, which was introduced in January, is the most comprehensive training program in the hotel industry for intermediary group meeting professionals, addressing their training needs at every level. Those new to the industry will acquire essential information about the lodging industry that will assist them in all aspects of meeting planning, including recommending hotels more effectively. For seasoned group intermediary meeting professionals, the program offers a refresher for what they already know and further expands their lodging knowledge with a collection of valuable resources and tools.
This self-paced online training course features three modules that include an in-depth introduction to the meetings industry, strategies for planning a successful meeting, and information about Marriott brands, programs and services. The program is available in English, French, German, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, Chinese, Japanese, and Turkish.
Meetings Excellence! can be found on Marriott’s website for group intermediaries www.marriott.com/grouppartners. This site also features promotions, special offers and meeting planning tools.
In 2007, Marriott centralized its group commission payments and support for North American group intermediaries. Industry-accredited group intermediaries now receive consistent, detailed and timely commissions in one consolidated payment for more than 3,200 Marriott International hotels worldwide, including Marriott, JW Marriott, Renaissance, Courtyard, Residence Inn, SpringHill Suites, Fairfield Inn, and TownePlace Suites.
In addition to receiving certification as a “Marriott Meeting Professional”, industry-accredited Meetings Excellence! graduates are eligible for Marriott’s discounted Plan-Tastic rates starting at $44USD at over 2,900 hotels around the world. They are also eligible for other exclusive benefits including Continuing Education Units towards CMP certification and recertification and the opportunity to receive special consolidated e-communications with promotions, offers, and news from Marriott.
