On 1 August, Sheraton Incheon Hotel will be unveiled in Songdo, one of the three ambitiously planned new international business districts in Incheon Free Economic Zone. It will be the long-awaited second Sheraton hotel in Korea in almost three decades and the first international deluxe five-star hotel in Songdo. The Sheraton hotel is being built in eco-friendly methods and will be the first fully non-smoking, LEED (the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) rated hotel in Korea.

“We are extremely excited to introduce this brand new Sheraton hotel in the heart of Incheon Free Economic Zone” said Alain Rigodin, the General Manager of Sheraton Incheon Hotel. “Songdo, once a quiet island, is designed to be the world’s most beautiful, functional and environmentally friendly city. The Sheraton Incheon will offer deluxe facilities and service to welcome business people in a warm, eco-friendly and completely smoke free environment.” added Alain.

The Sheraton will also be introducing ‘Link@Sheraton™’ for the first time in Korea. The Link is the heart of Sheraton hotels’ lobby, and is designed to be a destination for guests -- a community where guests are encouraged to socialize for business or leisure, to work or simply relax without feeling secluded in a guest room. Besides being a social environment and lobby destination, The Link also allows guests to check their email, research local attractions and even print boarding passes. Sheraton Incheon hotel will also introduce the first Sheraton Fitness facility in Korea. It is also a part of Sheraton’s initiative to bring community alive, and is designed to be more than just a hotel fitness center. Sheraton Fitness operates 24hours and will offer themed workout programs designed by Core Performance as it provides the necessary facilities for what our business travellers on the go need to unwind.

Exuding modern sophistication and equipped with the state-of-the-art technology, the hotel is only 20 minutes away from Incheon International Airport via the new Incheon Bridge that is to be open in October 2009. It is also in the close proximity to main business, cultural and leisure facilities such as Northeast Asia Trade Tower, Ecotarium Museum and International School. The new Songdo Conventia as well as the city’s green oasis Central Park is adjacent to the hotel.

The overall design approach of the Sheraton Incheon was based upon the notion of the “Return to Utopia.” The style is a delicate blend of the modern Sheraton language, traditional Korean patterns and graphics, and the word Songdo that is translated as “pine tree island.”

The 319 non smoking guest rooms will offer the familiar Sheraton comforts, including signature Sheraton Sweet Sleeper(SM) Bed with its plush mattress, cosy duvet and Sheraton Coffee Maker. Each room features high ceiling and large windows with a 32 inch LCD television, a generous proportioned work desk and high-speed WIFI and broadband access. All the amenities and facilities are designed to meet the needs of every traveller, including a spacious bathroom featuring separate bathtub and rainforest shower.

The Club Lounge located on the 22nd floor boasts of a spectacular semi-panoramic view of Central Park, West Sea and the world’s 5th longest Incheon Bridge.

To celebrate its grand opening, the Sheraton Incheon is offering special opening packages from August 1 until October 31, 2009. Be the first to experience the newest hotel in Sondo,Incheon. Please visit our website at www.sheraton.com/incheon.

Four restaurants and two bars will delight guests with an array of delectable dishes ranging from local flavours to international delicacies in all-day dining FEAST, elegant Chinese restaurant YUE, and authentic Italian restaurant BENE and sophisticated Japanese dining MIYABI.
