Mandarin Oriental, New York is delighted to announce its partnership with Staglin Family Vineyard to feature exclusive bottlings of "SALUS" Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon in the private bars of all rooms and suites.
Mandarin Oriental, New York is delighted to announce its partnership with Staglin Family Vineyard to feature exclusive bottlings of "SALUS" Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon in the private bars of all rooms and suites. Mandarin Oriental, New York is the only hotel in the United States to have these wines available for guests to enjoy in their rooms. Profits from the "SALUS" bottling helps underwrite costs for the Staglin annual Music Festival for Mental Health, which has raised over $90 million in support of mental health research.
Envisioning the wines as a perfect complement to in-room amenities, Mandarin Oriental, New York's Wine Director Annie Turso worked with Staglin to make the "SALUS' bottlings available for the hotel's private bars. Turso, Manhattan's "Sommelier-in-the-sky", was drawn to the combination of quality and integrity in working with Staglin Family Vineyard. "Staglin not only produces wines of quality and prestige, but commits itself to giving back to the community. We are proud to feature their wines and have them to offer to our guests," said Turso. The 375ml bottles of "SALUS" (pronounced "Sah-loos), named after the Roman goddess of health and well-being, are crafted to represent a distinct, immensely enjoyable Californian style, with pristine fruit flavors and silky tannins.
Staglin Family Vineyard, located in the heart of the Rutherford bench, is a small, family-owned Napa Valley winery devoted to producing great wines for great causes. Staglin Family Wines are 100% estate grown and farmed organically, certified by CCOF. The "SALUS" Chardonnay is crafted in a Burgundian, low malolactic, moderate oak style, while the Cabernet is aged in 100% new French oak for 20-24 months and imparts a "Rutherford Dust" tannin characteristic, unique to that specific part of Napa Valley.
